I've said it before and i'll say it again, I absolutely LOVE all-blacked Plops. Maybe it will be the one that gets me back into Omegas....

Went to wear the plo today, wound it up, unscrewed the crown and started to set the time and realized I had a problem. The hour hand is stuck and will not advance past 8. I can wind it backwards and the hour hand moves, but forward it clicks and wont pass 8. Looks like its going in for a service. Sucks because I just got it about 2 months ago, the best swiss version available. Oh well, thats how it is with the rep game. But now I know it will be disassembled and oiled right. Danm, right before vacation too.

Hi guys,
Just a quick question. I am after a Ploprof as a general daily beater - so wasnt planning on a V2. Could you direct me to a cheap v1, preferably a V1.5.
Andrew at trustytime has V1s for $168 and his Asian 2836 model at $248 has the correct logo and non laminate glass, apparently. Any thoughts on these?
Thanks

I got my V 1.5 from his buddy Josh..>>>

@ 2 months ago, and it fills the "daily beater" bill just fine!!
The 21J sweeps smoothly, and the crystal seems to be Ok...
The lume is great, glows legibly all night...
The non functional bezel lock button is IMNSFHO, a plus...
The bad news is: they went up in price $20.00 since I got mine!!

Hey Frank,
cheers for the info - Josh's price on the Asian 2813 is fair. Is this the model you have. Unfortunatly all the stock photos of these show happy feet, does yours have the correction?
Any suggestions on trusted dealers for these?

No "happy feet" anymore except..>>

On some of the old stock white dials...
I have seen and handled a V2 from "Lay" who is a TD here, and it was well made!!
AFAIK, these are all made at the same source, so as long as it's a current stock piece, all of the old V1 problems are things of the distant past...(things move fast in the rep world!!)..
I would shop around for the best price and shipping options, since the watches are pretty much identical version for version...
Buy one!!...you won't be disappointed!!!

cheers frank
its just frustrating when the all have old stock photos with the happy feet on, so you have to email them all to find out what stock they actually carry.
Will get hunting and post back when i get sorted :D

@Inushuk; great job there! Looks perfect.

I had an encounter with a gen Panerai 111 wearer yesterday. I am on holiday in Norway and he is the neighbour of family we are staying at.

He saw my Plo the day before down at the beach, I noticed his Panerai. He was looking at my Plo for a while before he started the conversation. "Nice watch you wear mate" He had the original Plo from the seventies a while back. I handed him my Plo and he actually didn't notice it was fake untill I told him ;-) He was very impressed with the quality of it. "This is not a cheap fake, it's a really good one".

We had a nice conversation with some beer about watches, he was a real watchfreak too. It was my first time I had a gen Panerai on my wrist ;-)

The CG tip on my Ploprof seems a bit loose and wobbly, it doesn't fit tight with the case even when the crown is screwed in all the way. It's been like this since I got it. Is there any way to tighten the CG tip?
