PloProf wears quite similiar to DSSD albeit a bit more clunky in a positive way. DSSD is more of a dress watch while PP is more of a funky tool ;) I do like both of them. If ever considering a GEN - it would be more like buying in order - with DSSD first I guess.

IMO the Plo wears quite a bit bigger and heavier than the DSSD, on a thicker strap as well. The dials are about the same size but the Plo's bezel is a bit bigger, and the CG and bezel lock parts of the case make all the difference. the Plo wears like a 45mm breit...smaller dial and the mass is all in the case.

The only thing is, after having worn Pams for the better part of three years now, everytime I look at my wrist, I think I've got the damn thing on upside down

V 1.5 lume test >>>

I charged mine up for @ 10 secs. under my desk lamp last night at @ 11pm.....Went to bed...discovered that my digital LED alarm clock wasn't working...
At my age, (70 today!!) one wakes up several times EVERY night for "bladder maintenance", and I always check out the time on my clock.Since it was off, I used my plopper as a substitute..
I'm pleased to observe that it maintained an easily legible degree of lume throughout the night, and was still quite bright at 7:00am...
My observation is that the watch develops a strong lume at first, then quickly loses maybe 1/3 of it in @ an hour, then stays quite bright all night...(8 hours in my case)...
IMNSFHO, spending any extra $$'s having these "frankenlumed" is a waste of money, unless you frequent the type of pubs that have gal's who are impressed by "wrist torches"!!
Here's mine after an @ 10 second chargeup under my desk lamp:

@Frankt : you're a lucky guy, on mine the lume does not last very long and around 4 am I cannot see anything on the dial ... :(

So I m gonna send the Plo to my best friend Uwe (finedd) and he will relume : dial, hands, index and bezel insert + double AR... Then I'll post some picts...

I know it will be great as Uwe allready did same type of job for some of my APs :)

Which Mesh is that..??>>>

Where are the adjustment links ??(It looks GREAT without them!!)
The "MCGuyver" procedure on the clasp is only necessary on the older V1 clasps...The divers extension on the V2's keeps the folding links from triggering the adjustment slide..

I bought the Mesh Bracelet on Ebay ... It was an NOS Omega mesh 24mm with the old clasp. when I received it it was too long for me so I cut off 2 links on both side and adapt it on the Rep Clasp Ploprof. Pict 3 you can see there is still an adjustment possible and it can gain approx more than 1 inch

It is not about flawless clasp :) Looks like you did not fold the extension properly and now it blocks clasp against unintentional adjustments ;)

The extension is properly fold :) nothing wrong with it i 'll post other picts and you will see it is at the correct place ... I thing the V2 clasps is just better that the V1 ... :) and issues are gone :)

Every other Omega clasp >>

With a divers extension that I have owned(maybe 10-12) has the divers extension laying flush in the clasp body...like these:
IMG_0005-4.jpg

There is some slight variation, but never beyond the height of the clasp body..
my biggest problems with these clasps has always been that virtually useless divers extension!!

I'm not saying that that's the correct situation on the Plopper clasp, but it does look to be not fully closed to me too...
That being said, if it works for you like that... great!!...It certainly solves the slipping adjuster problem handily!!

I understand well ... and the extension goes at it's correct place ... :)
But as the watch was side way for the picture the extension just came out a little bit...

Below pict of the claps on the correct position and see the extension is at correct position also .. :) So it does fully close

That looks great!!...>>>

Even when it's flush, it sits high enough to prevent accidental movement of the adjusting mechanism...BTW...The workmanship on that V2 clasp vastly exceeds that of the V1 model !!

Well, I was only a bit joking about having defect-free clasp due to improperly folded clasp :) But, if it needs to be clarified, here we go:

20.jpg

The edge of extension can be put UNDER "PUSH" bar, as you can see. If you fold it improperly - it sticks out and actualy "solves" the problem of clasp since it protects the "PUSH" button.

Ah ok ... sorry I had no idea that it should be under the push button ... :) but even so on mine if it is over or under i do not have this issue with unwanted openning...

so maybe Clasp V2 still better than V1 ...

Thanks for your input and clarrification

glad to be of help to you :) anyway, I had to replace springs to more stiff ones to get rid of the problem. Lucky you :)
