I can't look at those 369 Rolexs, they are great watches but everytime I look at them I get this earworm;

Buy any model of GEN Patek Phillippe , It worth every penny and you won't look back for REP side

Whereas I agree that a Rep PP does not reasonably emulate the Gen in the way that say a Rolex sub or a Pam111 and many others listed here does.
I have had many Pateks in my hand and been very close to buying. In the final analysis however I have found , contrary to what you say, that IMHO they are really quite poor value and disappointing when compared to other watches offering the same kind of USP.
The PP USP being very high quality of manufacture and finish. Frankly others do it very much better. So much so that try as I may, I have not been able to actually buy one.

What exactly was disappointing, compared to other brands (which) ? I can understand that a steel nautilus maybe doesn't feel like 30k, however, there should be no quality or finish problem on a Patek ?

Well the Nautilus and Aquanaut are not watches I would consider in any case from a design poit of view.
But I did seriously consider a Calatrava as a dress watch and bought a Platinum Moser instead, but there were many potential alternatives. I considered various Annual and Perpetual calendars and found that there were quite a list of other makers offering an equally high quality level of finish and much more in terms of movement innovation and execution.

The Moser seriously exceeds the PP in terms of movement quality and overall finish for similar money.

The Calatrava 324 SC movement is hardly serious for a watch in that price range. It is basically a simple movement not dissimilar to a 2824 (Of course much better finished) beating at 28800 with a simple balance cock, not even a bridge . Regulated balance rather than free sprung and a PR of only 35 hours. It is seriously lacking in any kind of sophistication and I think it would be reasonable to expect better.

Compared to the Moser twin barrel with modular full bridge FSB and 7 day PR and a level of finish easily in the same league. Plus a unique and innovative architecture from Andraus Strehler One of the true greats of modern watchmaking.

Will we ever see a dial like this on a rep?

The rep just came out and it feels a bit dead compared to the gen

I can't say it's a bad rep though

The most telling signs on the replica are the incorrect subdial spacing and wrong font in the date window.

Regardless, all reps are utter crap, are insulting and disrespect the painstaking craftsmanship that goes into making a genuine.

Also, anyone who tries to justify getting a rep over a gen is lying to themselves and is in denial.

1. Bottom line, if you're a fan of reps you have no self-respect and you're a poser.
If a stranger complimented you on your replica watch and asked you if it was genuine, 99.9 % of you would lie and claim it was genuine if you knew you could get away with it. Anyone who denies this, you're full of it.

2. Trying to justify a cheap movement in a rep over say a genuine Omega Cal. 9300 or a Breitling B04?

You seriously need your head examined.

IMO there is nothing between Rep and Gen of any significance . One of the best reps around.

So this santos (38 mm) considered as XL right?
Thank you very much timnic54,
going to buy this beauty at intime after you said that..
