What exactly was disappointing, compared to other brands (which) ? I can understand that a steel nautilus maybe doesn't feel like 30k, however, there should be no quality or finish problem on a Patek ?

IMO there is nothing between Rep and Gen of any significance . One of the best reps around.

AFAIK santos inner bezel is metal on gen and painted plastic on rep
