@guru
I had several problems with this “simple” mod, could you please check 3 posts up in this thread (post 495 I think). Perhaps you could give me some guidance.
Thanks in advance.

oh man, this is so easy. Just put a washer under the movement clamps and problem solved. I used to cut out the feed from the deco bridges which were underneath the clamps. The movement is too far in. I do not know what kind of caseback you use, try your old caseback. Maybe the caseback hits the rotor?

This mod is so easy, remove deco plate, 1 screw on deco, 2 clamps, put clamps back on with washer or deco plate feed, mount rotor and vola.......screwdriver points to the screws which need to go out. When you take a close look you see that the deco plates are under the clambs.

Makes sense, thanks a lot for the detailed explanation. Will try again with washers under the clamps.

Btw I noticed that the deco-plate on mine was different, crazy that even if it’s a closed case back they put so much effort into these instead of focusing on correct thickness.

Let us know if it works, but it will. You have 2 units, clamp and deco, you used 1 unit

Shot of the Daytona franken collection.

1 ARF base vs 2x noob base.

Still trying to decide if I should have the white 116520 bezel refinished and bezel numbers repainted by @jonj480... the "used" look bugged me a couple of weeks ago but now it's growing on me - looks "period correct" for a polished SS model that is supposed to be 6+ years old I think

Was more of a GMT guy but I am now loving these Daytona models

I'm putting myself on a Franken diet for a while...

Nearer than you think
I had a spare gen bezel lying around so changed it today to the correct 6 digit version. It's got some signs of wear but I think that makes it more "period correct" :).

For someone that is used to wearing ceramic bezel models I must say seeing the mirror polish bezels on these daytonas takes some getting used to (and those hairline scratches!).

Specs: ARF base serviced 7750, gen dial, gen crystal, gen gasket, gen bezel, shortened pushers, reshaped lugs.

Great pics MrB. My vote is do the paint mod. A pristine watch is all the more beautiful the older it gets.

It is a standart noob ceramic bezel. I used to have the ARF bezel too, had 5 people vote which is the best, noob won with 3:2...

I'm two minds of the ceramic black dial... I like it but I wonder if it looks too much like a speedy.

I think the black dial ss bezel is the most elegant.

I agree with that, this is why I will use the gen 116520 dial from that franken in the SS case with a gen new bezel.I also have the white with gen dial. Then the black and white ceramic will get the ARF dial.

The 116500 black is nice to have in the collection but from 20 days I used it mabe only 2x and the 116520 10x.

I have all parts but cannot build it because my 2 new noob Daytonas have been shipped on 9/27 but do not move in tracking.
