Hello RepFam!
If you own a VSF Oyster Perpetual or a VSF 41mm no-date Submariner, congratulations, you have the best possible movement in your rep. However, when VSF made these reps, they didn't get Dandong to modify the VS3235 into a VS3230... that means that there's a phantom date correction position when you pull out the crown even though there's no date on your watch.
Over that past six months, with the help of @xZeroCoolx I've been working on a mod to fix this issue. After many (MANY) iterations, that mod is finally ready for release.
The mod itself is quite simple: it's a replacement for the stock VS3235 setting lever spring (Rolex Part Number: 3235-231) with a modified version of the part which eliminates the unused date correction wheel (red arrow), and changes the spring lobe geometry to have only two setting lever positions (winding and time setting -- blue arrow) rather than three (winding, date correction, and time setting -- yellow arrow).
These custom "3230" setting lever springs are now available from @xZeroCoolx and myself. The cost of the part is $80 USD plus shipping (although these parts are small and flat so shipping is usually only a dollar or two via letter mail). Thank you to @trailboss99 and @daytona4me for allowing us to make this part available to the RWI community (please move this thread to an appropriate location if here isn't the best place).
If you'd like the mod but don't want to do the swap yourself, then this mod should be available from many of the Trusted Vendors here for around $200 (individual watchmaker prices may vary).
These parts are made in small batches on a fiber laser and are all hand finished, so they are only available in limited quantities for now. If demand is there we might look at alternative production methods like wire EDM.
The mod itself is completely reversible since it's simply swapping out the Dandong part for the Mod part. Please comment below if you have any questions.
All the best,
Dogwood & ZeroCool
