This pic was just shared with me by
@xZeroCoolx … the part on the left was discovered in a new VSF oyster perpetual.
Apparently the movement still had “3235” engraved on it. Additionally the date works parts were missing from this movement and two of the five blue screws that secure the date plate were missing.
The watch in which this was discovered was bought from a TD directly from VSF (no third party Chinese modders worked on it)… so this strongly implies that VSF is now modding the vs3235 movements that go in their OPs and no-date 41mm subs. (My gut says this is VSF not Dandong since the engraving remains 3235 and if Dandong was doing this I’d expect it to be done “properly”).
While I’m sure many of you assumed that
@xZeroCoolx and I started this project with our eyes on the bountiful riches that every other hobby tinkerer has earned from designing and cottage manufacturing a niche mod for a niche product, you’d be wrong… we did this because we saw a problem and wanted to have a go at fixing it. If VSF is now making OPs and no-date subs without a phantom date correction position, that’s great.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
And for anybody with a pre-fix VSF OP or 41mm no-date sub — we’ve got your back.
