Sorry I wasn’t clear, I meant the hour hand itself on the gen has jumping capabilities if I’m not mistaken. On the gen you can jump the hour hand. Maybe he was asking if the rep would have any of those functions. lol confusing topic for a complicated watch!

Oh, right of course. The gen does hour jump like the GMT Master but the rep does not. There is a rep DG2813 (actually DG3804) that will hour jump but that was a faulty and unpopular movement, worse than the 2824 CHS timebombs. And it did not have a GMT wheel.

BP released DG3804 CHS GMTs

DG2813s and their variants are amazingly versatile and reliable for their low cost, but one extra GMT feature (hour jumping or GMT wheel) is all they can handle.

I'm sure it's fully functional bro. All previous 2813 models of this rep had a fully functional GMT wheel. It's actually a 2813 variant called the Mingzhu DG 5833

Even my $150 Regmariner Sky-D has a fully functional GMT wheel.

It was only the ETA 2836 versions that had non- functional GMT wheels

I just got an email back from Ryan. This is the same movement that I currently have in mine. It is listed as a DG2813, it is actually a Mingzhu DG5833.

It is an inexpensive yet decent movement as many DG2813s, DG3804s and other variants are. It is a relatively simple mod of the base DG2813, having only one extra gear to drive the GMT wheel and another one the set it independently.

Here are some pics of the movement under the hood during a servicing and an improved datewheel mod for the DG2813 fugly DW.

Here you can see the simple extra gear that lets the hour wheel drive the 24 hour wheel

There is an extra setting wheel to set the GMT wheel

Regarding crown functions, it works like a 2836 ICHS.

Crown 1 - winding
Crown 2 - Quickset date (clockwise)
Crown 2 - GMT wheel set (anti-clockwise)
Crown 3 - Time setting

The GMT wheel setting in crown position 2 is continuous (no discrete steps) which can be a blessing or a curse. I prefer it this way because you have unlimited control over exactly where it is set, unlike a 2836 ICHS GMT hand which jumps only to specific points 1 hour apart dictated by the click spring.

However it can be a little frustrating to set the Sky-D 24 hour wheel exactly where you want it because there is a little lag in the gears so it can shift a little when you push the crown in and the wheel can lag a little til the gears catch after you've reset it. At times I have taken 8 or 10 attempts to bracket my positioning of the wheel before it stayed working the way I wanted it to. Once it is set, it's best to leave it alone.

I will order one of these later today. Ryan confirmed it is "available" now.

That's how its supposed to be, intime have it listed as 28,800 BPH. Same speed as the 9001 caliber

I'll believe that when I see one on a timegrapher. TD descriptions often have errors. I'll ask for a timegrapher pic in my QC.

Actually the dial sunburst looks very good in the video. The lighting is not great and the watch is being moved around a lot but in a still shot the bursts are there on both dial sections. That's a welcome sight compared to Intime's pics.

That's not something I ever worried much about. Kind of like my "Platinum" Daytona rep weighing 155gms instead of 280gms. No you can't hold it, haha.

I agree on the weight but for me there's something about watching a higher beat movement sweep, and a 21,600 is a lot more jumpy compared to a 28,800. Sure it won't be something seen in a photo or by anyone from a distance staring at it on your wrist but it's a nice addition.
