The movement cloning capability of the Chinese factories are really getting scary.
Is there something to do with their aerospace technology, lol

I wonder how far the YEAR function display goes on this one.... hope it doesn't just stop at 2024 or something o_O
Does anyone know ?
Afaik the year calendar is functioning until 2028. It's said the moon phase is only a day/night indicator so my hype is gone.

According to recent pictures of the 5712 V2 the newer batches of movements got printed wordings instead of laser engraved ones…

Pretty much saddens the look of the already mediocre geneva stripes.

On a side note - one is now abled to remove the paint and mill the engraving with a PCB prototyping cnc mill haha

I‘m eagerly waiting for some skilled members to dissect this movement to remake the finish and polish the chamfers/anglage to a mirror finish to really make the whole construction pop.

There is so much potential left on the side of the road with this movement…

I've ordered one but I'm slightly worried it will just fall apart and stop after a short amount of time. The movement seems rather more detailed than a lot of others, and I wonder if I try and get it serviced by someone in the UK who can take it all apart, take some pictures, clean, then reassemble. I'm just not sure if I trust the factories with putting these together with total care.

I think it's true for every reps and rep movements.

Not necessarily for the well established movements like those Rollie clones 3135, 3235, 4130, 3186. Even if they fail, there are still chances to find gen replacement parts to fix them.
But for those clones of really exquisite brands like PP, AP, personally I will stay away from them. And for complicated movements such as the 240 it is really a big NO. The chance of getting it fixed in case it fails is almost zero.

Haha, sometimes the rep game is accompanied with not fixing but replacing the watch. If you can accept it then you can fully enjoy every reps irrespectively of their quality.

bought one today shipped and insured for 730€. A Hong Kong friend told me some dealers just dump the ZF Subs on local ebay and people buy them there for the right price. I ordered mine with Theonewatches, he will sell it without the Sub combo
