Paid mine to PT on Jan 13th, received QC pics on March 3rdAnyone else just ordered a 5712 and is experiencing long waiting times? Ordered mine 1 month ago, the dealer said factories are afraid to ship watches right now because a lot of people got arrested and the market is strict. Is that true?
Which TD did you use?Anyone else just ordered a 5712 and is experiencing long waiting times? Ordered mine 1 month ago, the dealer said factories are afraid to ship watches right now because a lot of people got arrested and the market is strict. Is that true?
I ordered one from jtime and qc was done in a week. Not a TD
There's still people not going through our TDs and then wondering why they didn't get their watchesNot a TD
The TDs are garbage, almost all of them. So many after sale problems. The dealer has many reviews and I’m confident with it. I mean if i get scammed, it was by a guy who deserved it lol. He’s still answering all my questions, exceptional service. I’m not worried about not getting my watch, just was wondering if other people have delays too. There's still people not going through our TDs and then wondering why they didn't get their watches
That’s the problem buddy. They keep answering for months. Taking other people’s money too. Everything seems legit. The TDs are garbage, almost all of them. So many after sale problems. Eric from Geektime? Over the past few years, I have ordered 50+ watches from Eric with ZERO issues. He isn't a TD here because he had issues with leadership when he first joined, as he didn't want to share confidential info. Eric is a TD on every other site.I guess it’s Eric
If you follow the reddit thread you’ll understand his situation at this time.Eric from Geektime? Over the past few years, I have ordered 50+ watches from Eric with ZERO issues. Yeah, sorry I don't follow Reddit for anything, lol. I think I have 1 post on there from 7 years ago lol. In all of my time dealing with him though, I never had an issue with him so I am not sure of his current situation. Not sure of what service he would charge extra for but ALL TDs charge more than they should for the reliability factor. If you follow the reddit thread you’ll understand his situation at this time.
I personally had some issues with him, sometime liying when charging you more for a service he simply doesn’t provide.
Don’t saying you’re not going to get your watch, but TD are TD for some reasons.
Major, what about this suggestion here?Just some. As a watchmaker I'd like to find a fix for these instead of just saying 'send it back to China', but that has proven to be the only fix.
Having a modded pinion is just a little cap that fits inside of the minute hand hole like a cone. It won't affect the gear tolerance.
Apologies, what suggestion? I might have missed it.
"f it's a tolerance issue on a fitting like a pinion, then you should be able to use a staking set to narrow the diameter of whatever it fits using a round faced solid punch and then just ream it back out to the correct diameter. Watchmakers repair things like barrel arbors using this process all the time." with regards to fixing the dancing minute handsApologies, what suggestion? I might have missed it.
Have this proven to be the solution to the dancing hand ?"f it's a tolerance issue on a fitting like a pinion, then you should be able to use a staking set to narrow the diameter of whatever it fits using a round faced solid punch and then just ream it back out to the correct diameter.
