I had the GEN 5001-14 dial and believe me the difference was minimal!!! On the 3714 the difference is more noticable, but 5001 GEN vs REP Dial is minimal...but existing. It is all in the eye if the beholder, remember we are all looking at superimposed pics in perfect lighting...30x magnification does not exist in the real world....

I don't know how many times this has to be said by people who have had a gen and rep dial next to each other. I give up:doh:

I got mine about a month ago and I would say I get about 3 or 4 days of reserve, not 7.... At the same time I never times it to really find out but honestly, 4 days is not bad at all.... Especially since the reserve dial actually functions

Thanks bud for the info. Is it also accurate for the most part? Do you think this movement is a time bomb and can fail any day?

Like I wrote earlier, been using it fairly regularly for the last month and must admit I am very happy! There is no real time loss (approx a min over two days or so) and everything seems fine to me till now!
I do not regret the purchase at all!

I got one of the first ZF white face with gold hands and am actually considering selling it to get the ZF white face with blue hands.... That one is so damn sexy....

But to get back to the topic, I have not seen any indication whatsoever that the movement should cause problems, quite the opposite in fact!

Got to agree, the movement does look well made.

Mine has been running constantly for a few weeks (mainly because the power reserve is pretty good) and mine gains at the most 10 secs a day. Good enough for me, maybe at some stage I'll regulate it but don't feel the need to.
I will be more surprised if it fails than if it keeps going.

Any pictures of the front of the movement without the dial. Would be good to know that they didn't use a hokey gear to move things to the right spot and cause an imminent issue like on the 3714.

Not that it matters. I have 2 on the way :)

time keeping is very good, power reserve is at 3-4days which is good too. my date changing is stuck half way from changing date, so i have to pull down the crown and change manually. Didn't drop my watch or knock it hard on table or anything. But it's a rep, it's a gamble, no blaming needed, easily solved with a service. You suppose to get your reps checked/serviced by a watch smith anyway. Who knows, you might find a condom inside?

got mine 2 weeks ago. i wounded the PW to 4 days and put it on. By the end of the day PW was on 7days. But the actual PW is only for 3-4 days. not bad if you ask me. Also it has been keeping good time. About 1 minute every 2days.

The date on my watch starts changing from 10.40pm. At one point i am seeing one number of today's date and the one number of the next day. Not sure if anyone else is having the same issue

Same. I need mine moved over a notch to the right to straighten up. It’s annoying.

Why fix this? It's also on gen - and also on very many movements in the world. It's not an issue, it's a feature.

Date change is interesting but normal on this type of movement. Tonight it will be the 82nd of October for while!
