I agree with higginsd and also merowinger but I feel the nitpicking has gone way further than neccessary. These 5001s reps are probably the best IWC reps produced so far, i don't have a rep 3777 so can't comment on them.
Those finding faults and reasons not to buy are really missing out on something special but hey that's not my problem!!

People say some are too hung up on finding faults? Well whats the point of things like the comparisons then? Surely their very purpose is to find and point out faults.

Remember the Pelagos debacle? Mine has better lume application, well mine has better spaced numbers on the dials. Yes well mine has the correct crown guards, well so does mine for the older model!

Worst ones trying to convince themselves they didn't make the wrong choice were the ones who pre ordered the ZF Pelagos from PT for over $100 more than the V6 for one trying to justify their purchase to everyone.

If people get too hung up on flaws then why not save a few quid and get the cheaper one. Why buy a v5 sub when you can get a canal street one for $20? As was said 99% of people won't know or care.

My original question was simple. The ZF is considered "better" than the v1 YLF (as it has less flaws that people shouldn't care about but apparently do hence why they bought the ZF one) but how does it compare to the YLF v2

Been in this game long enough and spent enough to know how it works and also been at it long enough to know people get defensive about how great the watch they only just dropped $400 on is even though it may possibly have been improved on already.

First example of white/blue and it looks great.

About anal nitpickers - thanks to those guys reps are right now almost 1:1 copies, where you can replace rep parts with gen ones. If you are paying 400 bucks for a rep you expect it to be sth better than 30 $ Iwc from Beijing Silk Market.

The blue numerals on the dial look ******* ace!!!

Dilemma now. Wait for the grey ardoise and gold case or pick up a blue instead? Considering I was going to pick up a 15400 in blue and no one has nailed the colour it may just be another IWC.

Actually be thankful to everyone who buys these as it doesn't matter how much nitpicking there is it will never get improved if they don't sell.

Nice strap. I might consider getting one from orloff instead of a gen strap. another problem arise now after deciding the watch. lol

Too much "experts" in this thread seeing differences on high resolution, high magnification pictures they won't spot in real life, not even if you give them the rep and the gen and allow them to compare them side by side. Sorry guys, I'm out, this is real nitpicking. "The top loop of the 8 is too small", "The font isn't bold enough", "The white isn't white enough compared to the date wheel".

All these experts actual don't have the real watch in their hands. I got mine (ZF) some days ago - and it is a perfect rep, the best I got so far except the stunning 3777. Even the strap isn't so bad, better than 90% of the cheap aftermarket straps from vietnam or other obscure sources with "animal friendly brewed" gator skins. OK, I will definetely swap to a gen strap, but the quality of rep straps is raised a lot on the last releases!

If you are so nitpicky, here is a good advice: save your money, raise your funds and buy a gen. This is a rep and it isn't perfect, will never be perfect. And to calm you again: 99.999% of the people you meet won't spot any of the "flaws", 99.8% even don't see it's an IWC. Or know the name IWC.

LOL!! well said =)

I really, really, really hope the factories do this limited edition too. I don't even care about the rotor decoration being different, just love this panda dial!

I used to like horizontal twin subdials until many people started telling me it looked like a weird smiley face, so now I can't look at them the same anymore and I bet you will always remember this resembles a weird smiley face from now on. this as any flaws cannot be unseen!
