Date alignment is looking good when its 1.

I don't know if you realize this, but the 11th hour mark is a little weird, seems like the "1" on the right is thicker and not as straight compared to the left "1". Other than that, its looking good!
I don't know why, but I am always bothered by the 11th hour mark. :s

It looks to me they're positioned like this l \ and the I on the left (closer to the Indice) is located just a tad bit upwards to the l on the right.[h=1][/h]

hey you guys, the dial colour on gen. for blue/white is more white, don't you guys think YL factory version is more accurate than ZF on blue/white dial?

The dial on the gold and white and blue and white are the same, actually stated as silver plated. depending on the light it reflects differently so sometimes appears white, sometimes yellowish and sometimes silver.
Here are the gen dials of both next to each other, lighting is not very good but the same for both. As far as I am aware the date wheel is plain white on the gen.

As I said in my post it.s a YLF v2 that was listed on PT yesterday. The YLF v1 had an imperfect white dial so I would say there was plenty of room for improvement plus the comparison between gen, zf and ylf uses the ylf v1 as because, you know, the v2 kinda wasn't even out at that time....

Always pays to read a post properly before posting a reply

I read your post.

You said: "Now that appears to be fixed as has the case, is zf still the best choice?" That's not the question because ZF v1 dial is already perfect and the ZF case is spot on the gen case.

I think you should read before posting... IMHO

I'll type slowly for the hard of learning...

The ZF is more expensive and has always had worse hands than the YLF one (as noted in the comparison)

People are buying the ZF, even though it's more expensive and has worse hands, as it had better case and dial colour for the white one.

If the YLF now has the correct case and dial it could be a better buy for less money as with a watch the hands are quite important as you kinda use them to actually tell the time....

It's not rocket science really and you were wittering on about how can you improve the perfect ZF dial when I was asking about the newly released yesterday YLF V2 DIAL not ZF or YLF V1

ZF dial is still better than YLF V2, especially the numbers. To me, this is more important than the hands.

Actually I am comparing the pictures of the newly released ZFs (white face/blue hands etc) with my gen and the hands are spot on...

Sent from my 404SC using Tapatalk

Will do it when my watches arrive, ordered quite a number lol. When my lpv straps arrive, I'll do a picture review of the Santoni straps vs Haufmann vs LPV vs Hadley Roma

The 8 on the ZF is a dead giveaway. The top loop is too small on ZF. The gen and YF are much closer to each other.

Actually I've hold the 2 gens in my hands side by side, and the white/blue version seems more white/silver than the one with golden hands. I played with the light to check but the difference remained. Maybe it is because there is some reflection from the golden hands and numerals?
The dial with the blue hands is a very light grey that darkens easily and definitely not white though

I really, really, really hope the factories do this limited edition too. I don't even care about the rotor decoration being different, just love this panda dial!

Too much "experts" in this thread seeing differences on high resolution, high magnification pictures they won't spot in real life, not even if you give them the rep and the gen and allow them to compare them side by side. Sorry guys, I'm out, this is real nitpicking. "The top loop of the 8 is too small", "The font isn't bold enough", "The white isn't white enough compared to the date wheel".

All these experts actual don't have the real watch in their hands. I got mine (ZF) some days ago - and it is a perfect rep, the best I got so far except the stunning 3777. Even the strap isn't so bad, better than 90% of the cheap aftermarket straps from vietnam or other obscure sources with "animal friendly brewed" gator skins. OK, I will definetely swap to a gen strap, but the quality of rep straps is raised a lot on the last releases!

If you are so nitpicky, here is a good advice: save your money, raise your funds and buy a gen. This is a rep and it isn't perfect, will never be perfect. And to calm you again: 99.999% of the people you meet won't spot any of the "flaws", 99.8% even don't see it's an IWC. Or know the name IWC.

I agree with higginsd. But to spot the flaws, or let's say the differences, to compare the reps to the gen, and factories vs factories, isn't that the funny part of this rep hobby ? For me, every input in this regard is welcome. That's why we have a forum. It's not to pretend to have the gen on the wrist (and nobody cares anyway), but it's the feeling to have bought the best possible rep.
For sure this ZF is a stunner. Amen 2.
