Finally received my silver and gold 5001 v2. I really like the watch, I put a nice strap from orloff on it and the power reserve is around 70 hours. But now the downside, there is very small dust particle on the dial and there is very tiny scratch in the middle of the glass but for me very noticeable. Do you guys have any idea how I could get rid of the small scratch?

Change the crystal. No other chance, sorry. I don't think the scratch is really in the crystal, but in the AR coating. Normally crystals are made of saphire, which is the second hardest material after diamonds. If the scratch is in the saphire - no change but changing. Or polishing the surface with diamonds until the scratch is gone... If the scratch is only in the AR coating, you have to re-coat the crystal. There are some guys in this forum offering this as a service. You must remove the crystal from case and send it to them.

Sorry for you, but: good luck!

thank you higginsd that is what i thought. No other of my sapphire crystals have any scratches on them and I have hit them hard sometimes. When I have the funds I will send the crystal to someone who can do this than, maybe let the watch get a service in the meantime!

And therein lies the answer to all the PR issues. There's just no need to wind the watch more than a 5th of the reserve. The rotor will keep the watch wound and working for as long as it's on your wrist. But some people just have to go ape on the PR and crank it to the limit. From my own observation, I think the halfway point is the absolute limit. Anything over that is just asking for trouble.

It will go to max after wearing it for a day!

And that's my point exactly. Imagine what will happen if you've manually cranked the PR to the limit and the auto rotor keeps trying to overwind it. After a while, something's gotta give. Obviously, this is a new hybrid movement that still needs some work.

That's not an issue, no automatic watch can be over winded by design.

In a gen movement, yes, but this isn't one, is it? Obviously, that's why folks are having this issue. As I earlier remarked, this rep movement still needs some work.

Of course it's not a gen, surprise... :berry:
Nevertheless each and every automatic watch has a PR, be it 1 day, 2 days or whatever. It's not a matter of this specific watch, any automatic movement is supposed to be worn 24/7 without being over winded, so this should indeed not be an issue. No question there is enough room for improvement though.

Hello Everyone,
I am a silent lurker of this thread for quite some time, well before I decided to register.
I am interested in buying this 7 day Portuguese but I have so many questions I do not know where to start.
First question is about V2 vs V3. This last release is some days old thus I wonder if this is worth the try (I ve read the sticky thread)?
I have ss (not plated) version in mind with either ardoise or white background from ZF. Is there any favored dealer to get these ?
Speaking about TDs, are some of them located in the UK or continental EU ? I fear customs and possible seizure of goods.
Thank you in advance for your answers.

First off v2 is a different watch then v3 its not just an updated version.. The v2 is of 5001 and the v3 is the current version of this watch which is now called the 5007.. Now for the differences between these two, i cant go through all but if u have been keeping up with this thread it shouldn't be hard to find all the details u need. The movement plates, iwc font on dial, curved leather strap, slight change to case, new deployment clasp.. In my opinion the movement plates on the v3 look better then on the ones before plus it seems like the date wheel isnt an issue anymore so for that reason id go for the latest version..also it doesnt make a difference that the new release just came out bec its the same base movement as the previous versions only the plate had change therefore any issues with this movement will be the same(if not worse) with the previous versions..hope i was able to help

Anybody heard of a V4 from ZF, I'm keen to order one of these, but I know there are still improvements that can be made.
