Movement looks great to me.. I know some people like the first version of the 5001 the best bec theres no fancy movement plates and even though its not accurate compared to gen movement it looks well made and high quality.. But this 5007 movement looks really good imho no obvious faux overlapping gears like 5001 v2

Does this new V3 movement have faux, non-functioning gears placed there just for show? I can't gauge a proper assessment... some of you say it's impressive, while others have criticized it rather harshly. I'm a doofus regarding movements, but I think it looks damn pretty. That being said, I don't have much use for false gears.

Yes im sure it does, its just they don't seem as obvious/ridiculous as the ones on the 5001 v2.

Did anyone try to fix a crooked "1" on the dial? Would they move if you push it gently with some soft tip tool or do they need to be taken out and reglued?

I think it looks nice too but i still waiting for few more details pics in different angle and lighting. Already have the V2 which is my daily formal wear. The thing I like on V3 is the Curved strap, not really care about the IWC Fonts on dial really. Second is the movement but the black ceramic gear looks strange for me.

Crooked "1" can be align and fix, not sure about pushing it gently tho as it might scratch the dial surface. However, a decent watchsmith can fix that.

Mine has just arrived, SS with white dial, gold numerals and hands. Overall impression is very good. Movement engraving and finish is actually quite good. Fake gears are very well done for a first effort. I will post better pics in a couple of days as it is 9.30 pm here and not the best light.
Dial and numerals are much better than my V1, look much crisper and sharper. Date is perfectly centred.
Strap is crap but have a Vietnam one on its way. Vic form SMP_lover currently working on a curved end IWC option

Very hard to capture true feel and look of the movement. It's really pretty good.

Can anyone confirm if the rep strap has the correct dimensions?
I know the image has been given before, with them - but wasnt sure as there seem to be a few variations on lengths.

eg:
rep = 135/60
gen = 115/75

These do amazing custom straps with the curved spring bar for IWC. $320 though so you'd better love the watch!

Im wondering how the feel/quality of the new clasp is? I know the older version checked out very well compared to gen.. But this clasp had more intricate details bec of the logo now, so just wonderin how the over all quality looks.. Smooth edges, crisp ingraving etc..

I guess the quality is just as good as the others, even if there's more details and such, I honestly doubt that they would release something worse than before...

But I'm wondering if the black dial on gold case is coming too, because I can't see any seller selling them atm. I'm actually owning two V1 and pretty happy with them and I would like to buy a new V3, but I'm so disappointed that the date still not the same as a gen.

Wondering if I should return it. Also noticed quite a few of the dates are off centre.

Hi Mate, All ZF and YL model of the 5001, 5007, whatever model you prefer (Basically IWC Portuguese 7 days) is working PR. Reason PR is staying full because you wear them all the time and been recharged by the Automatic wheel when you move your wrist. If the watch been sitting there for days and PR still stay full, then prefer to get a check up and / or contact TD as you might get a faulty piece.

Its a brand new piece - just arrived 2 days ago.
Ive not worn it yet - left it in my cupboard since I got it - so its stopped ticking (no power) and the PR is still sitting on full.
I picked it up this morning to check and had to move it a bit to get it ticking - PR still sitting on full. So its definitely faulty.

Guess its back to the TD. Would have bought the V3, however I really want the Ardoise version.

I know it can be very frustrating, and usually I have about 2-3 reps at the watch smith for either shitty assembly or shitty movements. However, compared to what I spend for gens it still is a bargain.
