I hope someone can/will help me a little ... ?
I had some particles from the Dial on the inside of my Crystal, and decided to take the watch apart, to clean it.
All worked great, untill I should put back the Stem. I can't get the Stem to click into place.
Is there a "this is how you do it" guide somewhere, or can someone please tell me what to do ... ?
I have not used any kind of force, so I don't think that anything is broken?

Please don't tell me that a watch smith is about to take my money. ;D

How is the strap any better?

Rep strap still but the different is curved strap, I think the lug holes also become closer into the case therefore no big gaps like the 5001.

Heard about these updates a while back, looks fantastic [emoji2]
One of very few reps that I regret selling[emoji30]

S???R?I?????

Now you will have the opportunities to own the 5007. But i doubt the 5007 dial is easy to source than 5001.

Will the hands be the same as the gen though? Because the 5007 has different hands than the 5001, I can't really seem on the pictures on intime if they changed the hands as well. Since the hands on the 5001 rep are correct for that model right?

As the case is all new my assumption would be it has the correct holes too.

Well, fortunately I'm fine with the rep dial - if properly assembled. The strap, however, will most probably be the usual POS. ;)

I was in the same situation a few days ago - I tried like 20 times or more but in the end it worked. Try gently different angles - someone also told me to insert it as far in as possible and gently pull it back until it clicks.

Good you didn't use force.

I didn't open my 5001 yet, but to release the stem either there is a push button or a screw to turn near the stem input hole. AFAIK there is a push button. Gently press this button before/while inserting the stem. Carefully turn the stem while inserting and it will go back in the correct position. Don't use much power, you're risking to flip the yoke out of the sliding pinion! If that happens, you need some more skills or a watchsmith.

Godd luck, normally it works fine if you're careful.

Thanks for the feedback on my little problem.
I have tryed many times at different angles, and upside down, and so on, - but still no happy ending.
I can set the time, with some sounds, but I can't set the date, wind it or start the movement. I'm going to give it another go tomorrow, and if it does not work (I don't expect it to), I will send it to a watch smith.
If someone has some other advise, please fire away. :)

If nothing works, I can always buy another watch ... (damn)

Mmm.. Now do we think the v3 is better than the v2?

Well the V3 is a 5007 and the V2 is a 5001. So in reality the V3 is the first 5007 with correct dial printing and case shape for that model.
Both look good for their respective models in respect of case and dial but in my opinion both leave a lot to be desired with the movement decoration. The faux plates look ok but I really don't like the faux wheels. In reality it doesn't really matter as you are not going fool anyone if you show someone the movement and they know anything at all about mechanical watches. If they don't know then you might as well show them a V1 as they would not know any different anyway.

Is it just me, or did the machining on the first version of the movement look much better?

That's indeed correct, and it is pretty misleading to call it V3. There has never been a 5007 rep, so in fact this is a 5007 V1.

Seconded. As long as you like the look of the watch you can either take a 5001 V1 or V2 or a 5007 V1. OTOH I'd bet there will be a 5007 V2 in the very near future... ;)

Slightly off topic (albeit back on topic of the 5001 of which this thread was originally about!) has anyone purchased the Laureus 500112 version? I think it looks great and covers up any flaws even in the V2!

http://puretime01.com/portuguese-re...-edition-on-blue-leather-strap-a52010-v2.html

Thoughts appreciated :)

There are quite a few Laureus version been posted here before and feedback was good. (Coz it's closed caseback)

Also a Laureus comparison link under my Signature below (In Red) would give you more details.
