I dont see why not. The investment in the case is already made. Why not leverage it across all oyster 36mm variants? I imagine you will see DJ, DD, Perpetual...everything 36mm

It is a milestone imo, amazing that it comes with an SH 3135 because that will make it easy to fit on genuine hands, datewheel and dial.

Caseshape, lugs, endlinks all look very good (although there are not many pictures showing the endlinks and lugs) also the coronet looks quite good (but hard to say if it has the 3D effect of gen). Bezel looks good but not amazing, to be honest you cant expect them to get it very close to genuine because whitegold has a more prominent shine than steel and it is quite a delicate part to produce.

Crown looks very good too but on the genuine it is slightly recessed into the case, so the case looks just a little different:

Also lume markers are a bit closer to the railroadtrack on gen plus they look a little bit more refined

Also this looks more like a white dial to me..

These flaws are very minor though in comparison to the 6 digit reps we are used to!


Maybe this is the DJ we have all been waiting for? I really hope not because I would have to franken it, making this my 3rd or even 4th franken project..

Hi does it have a blue colour tint on the cyclope like the other ARF MODELS

Awesome which parts will you use? And what dial color?

To be honest you don't really need more parts than a genuine dial and datewheel because the rest is very good already!

ARF Bezel will be sufficient (dimensions look good!), imo a genuine period-correct 6-digit fluted bezel (cheapest around 450 - 500) is too expensive, if you consider one take the genuine smooth bezel in SS.

Genuine Crystals are nice but not a must-have

Gen dial will have to be decided upon by the wife, it will be her watch. I think gen dial, gen date wheel and gen xtal will be in order. Xtal will probably be hard to find. I also have 5 gen jubilee links laying around that I'll probably install on this too for more franken points lol

Bracelet quality is excellent. Normal rattling and no sharp edges.
Clasp is a little tough but also very new, and more than manageable.

Also oyster bracelet is easier to refinish with scotchbrite and cape cod than the jubilee.

Really good looking the watch above! Only thing that is holding me back is the SH 3135. not a fan of their reliability.

Yup.. also not a fan of the 3135.. if they offer other movement options they'd sell more IMO..

Mate scotchbrite for the brushed outer links while centerlinks are taped off.

Cape cod for te polished centerlinks while outer links are taped.

Thats why I mentioned both.
