šŸ˜† Really? If only TDs kept their price within 5% reasonable, we wouldn't need to look to greener pastures. Fear keeps you scared and closed.
Let's not get into this debate here. Many members here also use non TDs but TDs are still viable and reccomended for first timers. If people can't look at a watch and tell if it's a high tier or what factory it's from or are not experienced then TDs offer a safety net and forum backing.

Remove all TDs from the replica game and do you think overall we would be better or worse? Probably way way worse.

I know 1688time is popular but there have been 4 exit scam dealers there that people pretend didn't happen, Biguan, that "US based" dealer. and still a plethora of shenanigans that happen with non TDs. People act like 1688 is holier than thou but really there are bad stories from both sides.

And the PandaBuy shutdown created so much damage to combined shipping savings.

It used to be for the price of a FedEx shipping you could get a ton of stuff. Not anymore. Stuff has become more expensive.

Where I need to be.

Trusted dealers offer value added benefits both tangible and intangible like buyer confidence, being tried and tested supply sources and good support when a package goes missing, arrives DOA or gets held by the customs. They also offer QC pics of course, a process which many members abuseā€¦

Non trusted dealers can offer prices cheaper but will invariably omit at least a few of the features mentioned above. They arenā€™t automatic scammers, much like how buying from trusted dealers doesnā€™t necessarily mean a problem free purchase process.

A ā€œreasonableā€ price is ultimately subjective and itā€™s reasonable when someone would choose to pay it, and it can turn into ā€œunreasonableā€ when the next guy feels that itā€™s too expensive. So I think @Reaps was right, letā€™s not make this thread about TD prices vs non TD ones. You can choose to buy what you wish from whom you wish of course.

Of great amusement is always the one-post wonder who bought from a non TD (or even a trusted one) and then creating a thread with all CAPS and with 53-78 exclamation marks in the title to complain that he is being scammed and asking everyone to avoid the dealer.

I totally agree with your opinion. A ton of people is looking for cheaper pricing, while foregoing the service quality TD offers.
I think this Jimmy video is for them:

How does it change comfort?
More photos please. And was this an easy swap? Anything extra required?
Comfort is better to my taste, less weight and better balance on the wrist. Not to everyone's taste I gather, but I prefer rubber straps to metal bracelets, not least as they are not as flashy and so formal. Swapping the bracelet for the strap is straight forward. There's a metal pin that holds the bracelet in place and that needs to be pushed out once the screws are taken off and then reinserted again once the new plots are inserted (the rubberb strap actually has titanium plots underneath the rubber). Beware though, those little screws are soft as Swiss cheese... Hope this helps

So nice on the rubber strap!! If I wanted to complete that look, am I looking for 28mm strap? or 27mm? Any good gen-like buckle/clasps as well for the strap?

Looks really good. Looks like it fit seamlessly with no problems. Where did you source the clasp?
There is no clasp. It comes with a velcro or alternatively you can get it with a steel buckle that can be retrofitted with an original AP clasp (thatā€™s my understanding at least). Iā€™ve always used the velcro option.

Are we all forgetting all the $10 Aliexpress alternatives that actually come with an AP style clasp ? Also 1:1 AP rubber strap and none of these ahem Rubber B ā€œ china time knock offsā€.

Donā€™t wear your rep with a rep strap. Itā€™s too obvious regardless of how long Rubber B has been making knock offs straps.

Yes. Rubber B costs $300! Which is like half of my rep watch costs. And the Rubber B isnā€™t even an accurate dupe. Itā€™s an expensive copy that costs them $3 to make.

Aliexpress charges $10 for the strap and $17 for the FULL METAL genuine prongs/fangs. Itā€™s a full 1:1 replica of the AP design for less.
