Did someone have trouble with fitting the caliber/dial correctly in this case?

I have discover that the movement spacer that come with the case is wrong...

My dial not touch the rehault and when I tried to correct the caliber start to do bizarre things...

I did a special ring to correct the mistake, will try to fit this week end but my investigation are all in the same direction, it's not possible to have a correct assembly with the Raffles spacer ring....

I've done three now with 6460 movements and not had an issue, even used a 26mm Yuki dial in one of them and it worked perfectly (albeit with a great deal of care).

One issue I did have was that the dial feet were too short to secure the dial in the movement so had to use some hypocement to secure the dial to the spacer ring and secure the spacer with hypo to the movement....

I thought too but just take a look to the dial at the rehault site, I have two case and it's wrong, here a schematic of the trouble

here a config think will do better

I ve made those ring, will update once mounted, the last build i did with the raffle case and a 2836 swiss etat came back to me cause the gmt had was erratic and loose time... Thought that was my conversion, but disassemble everything and can't find why, removed the eta, put a clone inside, and same things happen... I did a complete look up and found a little gap under the rehault, try to correct but the raffle ring not allow to go deeper in the case.

The second schematic is based on a cartel 1655 i received, the ring go in contact with the dial and push everything to the rehault...

Try to put the raffle ring on a 2836 and you will see that the ring stay way higher than the dial, no contact possible... When you put the raffle ring in the case, it can't go straight to the rehaul because it contact with a cut...

So, here we are

The new ring work pretty nice, it assure a better fitment on the rehault, but there new problem coming

On my initial build, i had some troube to regulate the watch, it gave me eratic amplitude and beat error, and some time the caliber stop and restart. Thought that it was due to this spacer.... It was half of the problem, the gap was not constant under the rehault and signify that the caliber had a little angle in the case... And now i understand why it stop....

My ring allow me to go deeper in the case and after assemble, my caliber stop at 12 every turn, a little press on the caliber and it restart... It was the second hand that touch the crystal. the hands are too close of the crystal eureka

I completly disassembled the case and put a little o-ring under the crystal (0.1mm i think) reassemble every thing, and it s smooth now, regulation ok no more stop, gmt setup is"jumping" hour by hour (before the action on the crown gave me a smooth rotation, not normal), gmt no loosing time... Everything fine, no more gap under the rehaut, caliber straight in the case houra :).

The stem height look good, easyest to screw the crown

Can't take picture, my camera is dead,

I think it would be nice that do an update on his kit to provide a good ring...

Someone have a build that he can regulate correclty with the ring provided?

Think to finish this one months ago, but my first attempt gave me trouble with the spacer...

Finally, this one done

Part list
Raffle case reworked
5.3mm good replica crown
Ruby dial with mod feet for 2836
Bivintage bezel assembly (30.3mm 😬)
Gleave and Co cyclop 116 at 30.3mm...😅
Bivintage submariner handset
Raffle gmt for eta hand
Special movement spacer as described before
Wheel selita 227 h6 to fit standard second hand
Hz 6460 cleaned and oiled
Dwo cartel
Raffle bracelet refinished
End link cartel open to accept 2mm spring bar
2mm spring bar

This was really a long journey, started my first build 6 months ago I think and work before it was completely out of problem...

Bivintage part will not be my choice for new build

First I had several troubles with the bezels I received. Order two, received 2 bezel assembly and one 30.2mm inner diameter, the other 30.3mm...ask him for another 30.2mm and receive a new one at 30.3mm 🙄

Did lot of search to source an aftermarket crystal and finally gleave and Co have some 116 crystal with 30.3mm external diameter ouf...

Bezel itself are quite good, colour is not correct on my pictures.... I know, no fat fonts on blueberry but i like it

Handset was sold to me for eta and it come loose for the hour and minute fitment 😬
thought this was the end for this handset but manage to deform gently the tube to have a good press fit and finally it worked...I like the hour hand quality and second hand too...

Movement spacer was explain before

Finally, the wheel 227 installed to fit standard second hand is a good deal with the raffle case, I think the second sit lower than the long pinion as I haven t got to up the crystal with an o-ring this time, second hand clearance is OK with the crystal directly mounted on the case...

Next will be the 1655 🙂

My usual camera is dead, and my backup déformé color and is not really sharp sadly, hope to post some good pictures later

Really good work bro, the result is quite nice.

I can recommend to you the tool below for crimping hands collars. I use it a lot even on correct size collars after they get stretched from repeated removals and reinstalls. Just find a slightly smaller hole, place the hand and gently squeeze. Perfect crimp in seconds, no damage.

Cheers
