Here is the money shot on the gen crystal.

I don't see them getting the crystal correct any time soon.

I do think the pearl is much closer.

You can't judge by that picture (I mean the qc picture posted earlier)...we need a close up of the pearl.
In my opinion the biggest tell of this rep. I don't care about the crystal.

Probably it´s just me but I can´t make out the tiniest difference between V1 and V2 yet. Must have got 1 of the better 5%. Only thing I would´ve improved is the engravings on the backcase and somewhat sharp edges on the lugs as well as more movement options. Waiting for the blue to be out to check in detail (and it´s a no-go if its more than $318 with the Asian movement, just out of principle)

V1 overall is one of my best quality otb reps with a vintage look and for me it´s one of the easiest to wear durable allround watches too. From the office-meeting to the supermarket to the beach café and out for dinner after the cocktail party. It´s the quintessential diver. Simply fantastic looks without any Rolex-stigma on the street. Love it.

May it rest in peace.

Maybe it was the water.

I can't see crystal or pearl update.

Really thought that was going to happen.

I think this is a matter of opinion. After all, there is no perfect rep. People mod all the super reps. I just find that there is some uniqueness to ones with some flaws, which is why I keep my V4 PO. I really enjoy that watch and I can't say that the V5 is better. They both have an equal amount of flaws and the movement in the V4 is obviously better than that of my V5 too.

I do agree that they are pricing up stuff lately. After the housing market crash of 2008, I noticed that these forums slowed down by a lot. So they probably had to hike up prices to attempt to make nearly the same amount of money, but not realizing or caring that people in other countries often had to take pay cuts etc in order to keep going. I came to these forums originally for the sub $100 watches and now all the good stuff is getting pretty high, up to the costs that we came to these forums to avoid. Remember the sites that had submariners for $1200-$2500 depending on the grade? Watch that happen here some day.

Its "Marketing" at its finest. Built-in flaws to justify an "improvement". Well, wait for version 3. Its already in the planning stage. The "flaws" in this new V2, are already itemized to justify version 3. And a price hike of course. Just like any other product, cars, cell phones, or anything nowadays. In the business world, its called justifiable improvements for the masses! LOL ! That's what keeps smart buyers from ever biting into this thing. And there are a ton of smart guys out there that would have tripled their initial sales if they "did it right" the first time !!!!.........just my take and honest opinion here  ..........so, lets see how this "improved version" goes, .......................back in the merry-go-round.

I can't see a lot new in the V2 but then more will be known when someone has in hand pictures. Honestly, V1 would have been fine with me and I will just buy whatever the current version is when I get around to buying one, I still have 4 watches ahead of it on my to buy list.

Factory pushed the release to end April. Check with your TD. I have already accepted my QC pics.

Nope. Guys, there was a 200 unit batch that was produced and is being sold right now which is not exactly V2. It has a part of the upgrades planned for V2 so some dealers called it V1.5. However, please note, the V2 IS NOT OUT YET (supposed to in a week), and any dealers selling a BB as one is basically misinterpreting the watch, just an FYI!
