Alright guys, 4th time, hopefully, is a charm.
The new pearl in place with the last pearl sitting next to it.
Dont think its going to get much better than this, its just too darn tiny to hold on to and work with.
Once the glue dries on the bezel ill put it together and take a pic.
TUDOR BLACK BAY V2 – COMING SOON! Just when you thought the Black Bay couldn’t get any better, here comes a massive update! A V2 is coming out next month with a lot of improvements from the previous version. Here’s a few of what to expect: 1. Pearl updated to same as genuine 2. Bezel rotating mechanism updated to same as genuine 3. Updated to running serial numbers on case back 4. Dial markers updated to the same rose gold color as hands 5. Hour hand lume updated to be applied more even 6. More updates to come also! |
I'm definitely in for the V2. I hope I get a good apple from the batch this time... I was a early adopter of the V1 and got dicked by PT. Mines arrived with bent hands that hit the indices. Hands so bent it damaged the lume on the hands. Contacted Angus multiple times and nothing.
Sure thing, and the blue bezel will come with the V2, got some samples already.

Also add to the bottom of that list.. 7. $50 price increase (on a watch that is already asking more than was originally planned)
Yeah.. Its sick.
When the production was being discussed before V1. They knew about several of these issues in the prototypes.. The pearl being one of them. It was discussed openly on RG and it sort of got swept under the rug. Now they're touting them as upgrades so they can charge you more. People are getting Fleeced.. They can be as ballsy as they want, because they have so many buyer's balls in a vice grip.
I'm sorry, but I'd honestly hate to see the people who think this is okay, at a car dealership. You'd probably walk out of there with a car over asking price, and you're doing all the work for the salesman.
Lets not forget that there has only been ONE RUN of this watch, and now they're saying issues like the bad lume is an "Upgrade". To me, that's called a "Correction". The indice color is hardly a cost differential worth adjusting the watch price over. The running serial numbers.. Why wasn't this done to begin with? Does it really "upgrade" a replica watch? The numbers are all fake to begin with. The only legitimate thing I can see as an upgrade is the pearl.. And again, this was known to be an issue before they even did the first run.
I dunno you can bash me if you want, but this is just getting ridiculous. I've been in the rep community for years.. and $300+ non-chrono Asian Clones used to be unheard of. Now these pricing/selling techniques are making it the norm. People roasted the cartel for pulling stuff like this.. (different scenario, similar practice). Now people are defending it?
Circa 2007: Purchased SS Sub from Josh for $188, with fully decorated nickle plated Swiss ETA movement.
ETA movements are a major reason for the price increase. When Swatch group did what they did... It changed everything. Now we pay about $100 more then back in the day, just to get a clone ETA powered watch. At least that issue (which is a major one) is not something we can blame on the factories. I remember even back in 2007 while chatting with Josh him saying "movements are expensive, they trade them like gold here". That was before the Swatch debacle.
