I personally find your posts very interesting and useful

If you can also start a thread sharing your new 5712 project would be awsome
@patekdreams, yes we all on RWI are hungry for trustable information about top tier reps like PPF 5712. RWI is the very best place for it (I do hope and believe).

You don’t know when to stop do you?

You’ve made claims that you’ve done several of these procedures. It shows you are going to do it for a client.

It’s good to have thoughts of how to do things but put them into practice is another thing. When you learn how to do it you are welcome to share it to others on the forum.
But attempting to insult other members and bashing the works of Trusted modders of RWI on this basis, well, what can I say.

They’ve earned their stripes. When you are a trusted modder you are welcome to do so.

I have done it for other clients before, I think its hilarious that you continue to insinuate that I haven't.

I'm sorry that I don't document mundane mods like switching out a moon phase disc?

Yes I insulted you, because of your repeated attempts at undermining my credibility. I've also apologized for my comments.

So when is it OK to criticize a "trusted modder"? Stop putting modders on a pedestal.

If I messed up your moon phase disk you can bet your ass I'll be offering to source a new one or pay for the damages done. I wouldn't be a little bitc^ about it and take all the criticism.

Or because you haven’t don’t it.

Sorry to disappoint you. I don’t get insulted by some random guy. Hence why I haven’t fallen to your tone or language.
And sorry to disappoint you again. You have no credibility here.

Wow, you really don’t know anything of how this forum works. Assuming how he’s behaving and calling him words without knowing how he is behaving about it. Learn some manners.

Yes, no credibility here but plenty of that on the NAWCC, so thats where I'll be moving forward.

Have fun defending modders that destroy your parts though! I wish you nothing but the best.

Ciao rwi, I'll leave this teaser for those that are interested, I’m building a bridge because the current bridge on the ppf v2 is one of the biggest flaws. Will be using the correct seitz jewels and correct bushings.

If anyone is wondering I have a sherline accu-pro set up. I’ll also redo the existing anglage.

But beware, you might want this done by a modder that @jm_brc_7057 worships. 😂

Wow mr NAWCC hot shot, who works on reps, have the need for approval of his skills from people on a forum, gets wound up by insecurities over his skills.
My bad I didn’t realise how lucky we are to have you on rwi.

Never said I was a hot shot, just saying I will be going back to a forum where ignorance like yours isn’t celebrated. You obviously lack any real interest in watchmaking so I won’t waste my time with you.

Is there some sort of inherent shame I should be feeling for working on reps? Shouldn’t it be in RWI’s interest that more trained watchmakers are working on reps? I don’t think being in the NAWCC and working on reps should be mutually exclusive.

I’ll work on any watch, my goal is to make watches accessible. Whether that’s through working on reps or gens. I’m sorry my moral standard isn’t as high as yours.

Speaking of insecurities, your insecurities about wearing a replica has led you to modding it to a point where it’s passable. We all have insecurities, and I can admit that I have my own insecurities. Anything else?

Lol. I don’t wanna waste time answering you. Get on with your business.

We've hashed it out. My apologies to those I've offended. I have a tendency to come off a bit confrontational.

I just wanted to update this thread because I've noticed on some ppf v2s the dials do have dial feets. They're solid in the center unlike the gen where its hollow.

They do function the same though. I would suggest other modders to take a look at the back of the dial as some have malformed (too short/too wide/non-existent) dial feet. The quality control is a bit lacking as expected, this has led to some ppf v2s looking like the moon phase sits much lower, and others looking more normal in terms of height.

All aftermarket dials from the likes of SW and TC all have well formed dial feet.

The dial feet and its fit into the plate directly impacts the height of the dial from the moon phase disc, so be sure to check if its sitting flush, again i suggest the micrometer to check before and after.

The best and safest way is to simply apply an overlay. I wouldn't risk installing the gen moon phase disk yourself if you don't have the tools to gauge the moon phase disk's fit.

Interesting! I have a gen 5712 disk but am worried now about having it installed.

Are those aftermarker overlays? Do you have any photos of them on the disk? Also would the disk from the V1 work in the V2?

Amazing project!
If that goes well let me know that I’ll ask you to mod my movement the same way.
I am currently building one with gen dial and moonphase disc.
Also do you think a similar mod can be done to 3kf movement, I have a gen mainplate, gen balance and bridge and most of the bridges gen. Do you think you can do the same mod to make everything work together?
Thanks for your contribution!
