braith7 I'm very interested on how your mod goes as I'm thinking of doing it myself to my st19 speedmaster too. I got mine from hont.

I've just done the mod myself and the only hard part was removing the movement as it's so tight! I also froze the 6 subdial while I was at it! ;-)

Are the pics in your photoshoot thread with the gen plexi in? if not, pics please :)

I read about the @6 subdial tracking the hour hand... what on earth were they thinking there? Is it a big job to kill it? (Im sure there is a thread on it but I cant find it sorry)

Nope, I'm putting it all back together today so I'll take some photos. No the subdial mod was incredibly easy; the hardest part being putting the bloody hands back on in the perfect position as every time I pushed them down with a hand setting tool they moved left or right a tiny but (enough to notice!)

theres a tutorial for the subdial freeze, I'll post a link to it...

I agree. In my opinion, the running hand @6 is a MAJOR flaw. By chance, I found a modded moony in the member's sales, here on RWI. Hand @6 is frozen, and Crystal has been replaced by a gen plexi. It makes a huge difference, and I love this Watch !

It's not so much a flaw as a lack of movement compatability. In the same way that the subdial layout is incorrect because the movement is specifically a 321/861 clone, that's the same reason the 6 subdial is 12hour mirror; it's just a lack of a more "compatable" movement.

You're right. Rather than "flaw", maybe I should have said "major tell". Anyway, for me the result is the same : the Watch is obviously a fake if the hand @6 is running. Of course, I know that the distance between sub-dials is not correct. But actually it is less noticeable.

Of course, all this is a personal feeling. We all have our own specific points.

Yeah I agree, to be honest the fact the dual is so deep in the case (the Renaut is so big) annoys me more than anything for some reason. I have a friend with a gen 3750.50 and he just thought my dial was a "different version speed master" until I to,d him it was a rep!

This is another good point with the Speed, you can easily say "it's a different version". People will easily believe it, if they are not real experts !

Well... my wife bought me a new 3510.50 reduced for our first wedding anniversary in 2001 and i love it to bits but wanted a rep to wear to work which i have done for the last few months. i liked the size so much more than the reduced that for a few weeks i've been thinking of going Gen....... and today i have :).

So here are a few pics of Rep, Reduced and Gen

Beautiful! How would you say the rep feels I'm comparison to gen? How's the bracelet?

Wow! You sir are the SpeedyPro'est! Thanks for sharing.

For the amount of talk about the rep subdial spacing, it looks pretty good to me.

Is it the rep plexi that yellows the rep hands and markers? Or are they just not as white as the gen?

The bracelet on the rep really is quite good to be honest, it's an auto rep that actually keeps great time around 2 secs a week fast. It's only because i've always wanted a Gen Speedy pro that i got one. I will say however that the Gen really is AWESOME and no rep Pro will scratch that itch.

Hard to tell really, the plexi on the rep is very foggy compared to both the Gens.

Thanks a lot for pictures side by side of the 3 watches. Reduced Speed is not so popular, probably because it's not "the real one". But I really like it, and probably in the future I will go for gen. It's not expensive if you buy it used (half the price of the Moony), and it will fit with my very small wrist.

Anyway, I understand that you decided to buy both of them. This watch is soooo nice ! Congratulations.
