A lot has happened over the course of the week.
Firstly, by the time I went to buy the Omega Ultra Deep the factory had no stock, but in the end I had to settle for the one below, which should arrive in the next few weeks.
As you can see it's on black rubber and has a polished case. It does have a better centre second hand tho
The watch that Omega sent down the Mariana Trench with Victor Vescovo was actually a "Concept Watch", a one off prototype, and from that was born the crop of Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep Professional 6000m watches that we see today. So that works in my OCD head that the watch in my display is the "Victor Vescovo
Evolution Ultra Deep"
I Told y'all I'm fuckin' mental
I may decide to brush finish the case and have also purchased the NATO strap below which arrived today, so as this is a display borne from my wacko brains idea due to my fascination and appreciation of the whole Deepsea Challenge story, this is IMHO more than good enough for the display homage ......
Also Postmistress Bridie brought the Pine Shelf, 2 Pine Frames and also the second Turntable and Glass Bell is here.
Shelf is on the wall beneath the cabinet, turntable holding an old dead ladies Rolex of Mels, to see how our two mischevious cats react, and so if they did mess with it, my beloved Rolex DSC would not get damaged, pleased to say that aside from an initial look from the wee female cat called Pepper, no further notice has been taken whatsoever
So basically left to do, I have to print off the story, and a pic of each watch on the submersibles if poss, and get the frames fixed to the wall, mount 1 more turntable, and then when the Omega arrives, get the strap on it and into the display, then it's photos / video time
Still no sign of my Rolex Celebration, that's not hit UK yet, I have also bought a 2 Tone Bluesey, which might arrive before the Celebration, and yesterday a nice Red Sub arrived, just a cheapie, it took so long to get here I'd virtually forgotten I'd bought it
Final thing I upgraded the Clasps on my Green Sub, Red Sub, Blue Sub and Explorer and (separate thread here) hit the jackpot with my Weshi 1900 and the Red Sub ...... + / - 0s .....
I've had plenty of watch play time in the workshop this week as I'm staining a load of Timber for my huge 3 Car Car Port / Workshop extension, so didn't book any other work in, and best thing to do whilst waiting for paint to dry is to play watches
