Hi guys.

I intend to get one built with a cartel v2 37mm as a base. Can I know what is the sub dial mod at 6 required to fit a better dial please? I will probably want to get a Clarks Crystal, thinner subdial hands and definitely a better dial.

Any ideas on where to get a great dial? Besides phong and MQ.

Thank you.

You can eBay for both a great dial and a Clark's crystal. Presumably subdial mod is to fix the hand.

Here's mine courtesy of Thsociety, Hurk and Yodog. It's one of the OP ones with few more mods

This is my 6263 Trusty Time,
is just so much space between strap joints?
There is a lot of movement and space ....

I wouldn't worry about it. Even on gen it's not perfect. If you want really tight fitting and perfect strap I'd buy a modern rolex.

My question was simple, I do not see what has to do about modern rolex....

I'm trying to explain to you that it's not suppose to be perfect. Don't be ungrateful. I'm trying to help you.

Ungrateful ? I made only one question because I could not know, your answer might controversy.
Sorry for disturbing.

and again, I'm telling you - vintage watches are like this - even on gen. So if you want the best fitment, get a modern watch.

Every day there are people asking this question - my reply is not trying to be rude but is a legitimate reply. If you don't like that there are gaps between your bracelet and the watch head there's nothing we can do to help. A lot of them come this way from the factory.

Only other solution is buy a Leather strap

It doesn't just tell time. It tells history.

6 o'clock mod, is that fixating/glue the subdial hand? Or is it a mod inside the movement?

Thanks a lot for this thread!
From what I read. They have to push the pin at 6 up a bit by nodding it. Not sure if I'm right.

I'm guessing then you need to make sure the six subdial is not active when running the chronograph too! Otherwise there would be issues

in a Cartel ST19 movement the 6 oclock subdial is FAUX. So it doesn't matter anyways lol. Nothing will happen. That is the biggest advantage of a Valjoux 72 build, run chronos to your hearts content!
