No name factory is ever better and no one knows them…
They do better bezels, dials and hands, the case is the same of jfk, the bracelet is better quality but without engravings.

So if you decide to mod the watch with viet bezel, dial, hands and tube + crown then you better choose jfk
But as an out of the box one, nonamefactory is way better!
Thank you! I just want to have one out of the box and enjoy on my wrist.

Thank you, there was a third link, but this forum made it a little hidden. This seems a No Name, right?

I fear not because of the dial, but sometime you have to know that old stocks haven’t updated pictures and descriptions :)
Just ask them explicitly for a no name factory one of the reference you want :)

Do you think is a stupid thing to buy a No Name watch, and fit a viet dial and bezel? I don't care of the movement, but just the look...

^no. it's actually the go-to path for that build i think. you probably don't even need a viet bezel. the no name has the flat s bezel i believe. so just switch to a viet dial, and you'll have a very nice looking vintage daytona rep.

No, I think it’s the best idea if you don’t care about the movement :)
If you want to fit viet bezel and dial, so go for a jfk watch ;)

Exactly! The NoName have good bezels too, it’s the best out of the box, but no deal for a viet bezel and dial ;)

If you want a good out of the box NoName is better

If you want a super good looking Daytona, jfk with viet dial and bezel is better

Obviously, if you want a gen-like you need the full viet kit with a vj72/726

Confrontation between 6265 (left) light aged NNF out of the box and 6263 (right) high end with vj72

And this is no name aged 6239 with modded dial and bezel ;)

Your choice!!

Thank you very much, so, if you don't care about the movement/functionality, the best you can obtain now is a No Name with viet bezel, dial, crown, tube, pushers and perhaps gen riveted bracelet, right?

If you change everything so is the same, both jfk and noname are good, but noname cost more :p

Thanks for your reply. I already completed my v23 build and did not want to glue the subdial hand to the dial. I instead glued a pinion to the movement and installed the hand on that (similar to how its mounted on the st19) imho that also looks better sice the hand does not sit on the dial but has a distance to it.
Did you use a Vietnam V72 case? I’m thinking about doing a V23 based Daytona build but I read that the V23 isn’t a drop in fit for gen spec cases

no, i used an old DW case for mystery movement (v23 "clone") or Valjoux v23. the V23 and mystery movement are a thinner in profile vs. the V72 since it lacks the 12 hour counter and therefore do not fit a gen spec v72 case. The stem is not lining up with the case hole/tube.

Thanks. Sounds like it's a matter of adding some padding behind the dial if you have a V72 case (i.e. increasing the thickness so the stem/pushers line up). Unless the pusher alignment with stem heights are different between the V23 and V72?

if you add a thicker spacer behind the dial you most likely need bigger heights of minute wheel, seconds wheel and hour wheel so that the hands clear the dial, otherwise you will not be able to install them or they rub on the dial. And if you install higher wheels (dont know if there are any available for v23) you might run into seconds hand clearance issues with the crystal.

Good point. I guess I could also add a spacer between the dial and the case (instead of behind the dial) at the expense of visual similarity with gen. Either way, sounds like a project! (might just be easier to get a V72 at that point lol)
