i think cleaning glue off after it has been applied onto the dial is too messy of a job. not to mention it's just too damn tiny to do a clean job. sellers who are part of the cartel like trusty still have the st19 daytonas.

matzemedia - the dial is from kuared. as for the coronet, no it's flat on the back for mine. my dial has the 2 holes though. kuared offered me to have a gen coronet or a rep coronet. i opted for the rep cause it was a little cheaper and looked much nicer imo.

Hello gentlemen,
I am new in your Daytona world. Since yesterday, I own my first four digit Daytona. It is a relative cheep 6341 from trusted times. They write it is from "no name factory".
I really like the clean look of the Paul Newman dial and the small diameter for a chronograph. But I am also addicted to modding cases - that helps me to increases the fun of a watch. So I already disassembled the watch to start studding everything in detail.

Now I am at the point where I ask myself what do I want to change to become to closer to gen. Changing the pusher, crown? Reduce the height? Change the dial to T21 or mod the shape of the case. To get the right answer, I studied this (and some other) threads, looked tons of images from chrono24 and other websites. But I'm still struggling with the answer. So, that is why I write this comment and like you to help me with this answer.

But before I can start doing anything, there are two questions I have:
  • How can I remove this modified pusher?
  • Is it correct that the old Daytona is about 15mm height? And if not, where do I have to reduce material?

Hi is it this one you got from? your bezel S is correct compare to this....

I 'am not sure. The one at the link is total different: other dial, other pusher.
The one I bought had "no name factory" in the description.

i plan on using a v23 on a daytona build, that means installing a faux hour counting hand at 6 o/clock.
Since i do not have a spare wheel with pinion from a ST19 i must use another way to install the hand. I saw that someone has done that before.

Before i start searching, does anybody know a solution, e.g. use a wheel and glue in a pinion etc.?

another question: i swap the Cartel pushers with PN302. How do you remove them, seem to be pressed in. is there a way without destroying them?

Help needed guys.

Does anybody know a good vintage watch modded based in singapore? It’s just basic things like swapping dials and bezel?

Thank you!

Your question is a good question, I can answer to you with thing I used on mine watches :)

VALJOUX 23 MOVEMENT BASED

If you are modding a VJ23 there’s no way to drill a hole and add a pinion to place the @6 subdial hand.
By doing so, you would compromise the movement and risk ruining it!
You have to fix the hand directly on the dial.

To be more precise as possible, I suggest you to use the loctite gel that allow to gain some extra time to set the hand in the right place before it dry and you can easily remove it if you want in future to use the dial on another build just with a drop of specific unglue product.

This method is for everyone, even without tools and movements knowledge.
You will only have to cut off the tube below the hand and glue it with a very very little amount of loctite gel, just a microdrop behind the hand to ensure a clean work, it will be enough! You have to be very precise and careful :)

SEAGULL ST19xx MOVEMENT BASED

The ST19 can be modded either by gluing the hand as explained before, or with another method which however requires you have a bit of watchmaking skills, so you will have to gain access to the front plate (the one under the dial) and use a tool to widen/enlarge the subdial hole @6 upwards by about two millimeters and then you can fix the pinion gear under the plate in the new raised position so that it is parallel to the @6 subdial hand’s hole.
To be more precise as possible, I suggest you to use the loctite gel here too that allow you to move the pinion in the correct position it if necessary, with the hole parallel to the hand’s spot

I am not an expert but an hobbyist :)
Before putting your hands on the movements do all the necessary research and also look for other opinions and ideas 💡 💡

Vintage Rolex is something very special ;)

Thanks for your reply. I already completed my v23 build and did not want to glue the subdial hand to the dial. I instead glued a pinion to the movement and installed the hand on that (similar to how its mounted on the st19) imho that also looks better sice the hand does not sit on the dial but has a distance to it.

JKF still supreme in 2025 for best "stock" vintage Daytona. Of course that's not saying much but still.

No name factory is ever better and no one knows them…
They do better bezels, dials and hands, the case is the same of jfk, the bracelet is better quality but without engravings.

So if you decide to mod the watch with viet bezel, dial, hands and tube + crown then you better choose jfk
But as an out of the box one, nonamefactory is way better!

I bought one from each factory (both st19 or 7750)

WMFactory have two model with and without asymmetrical pushers but they’re not good at all

EEFactory have best dials and bezels but have not asymmetrical pushers
Cases and casebacks from EE have correct engravings!!

BMFactory it’s the worse for vintage

JFK have a good quality out of the box but every case is engraved 6263 and caseback is generic

NoNameFactory can be sourced only by @trustytime and have best dials (the same of EEF) best bezels (same of EEF)
Cases from JFK (so asymmetrical pushers but only 6263 engravings and generic casebacks)

I suggest for who want an out of the box the NoName Daytonas, but for who want to mod bezel and dials then the JFK are good options ;)

I’ve wrote down a post on these things
