The new 389 is amazing and is on my "to buy" list, along with the KW Pelagos and 10 other watches. Need to make some room in the box and get passed the holidays (and recover from my recent fascination/shopping spree for fountain pens). I was tempted by the ZF 389 last year, but I just don't love the quality of ZF products. The KW 390 is a homerun. I need to see some more pictures, but this is getting close to a super rep (at least a high first class).
Guys, I know Angus and some of you love your zf watches--god bless you--but, in every instance where there is a ZF and KW version of the same watch, the KW is better in almost every respect including price. It's almost liking comparing Noob and BP in the rolex section.... they both have strengths and weaknesses, but Noob wins almost every time on quality. BP always prices their products well enough to justify a debate about whether the noob is worth the extra money. When it comes to a choice between KW and ZF, you don't have that dilemma---KW is the best in every category. ZF has to step it up on quality and QC and drop their prices if they want to stay in this game. :cheese:

I get it. You guys have better eyes than I do but I swear if someone put a ZF up here and said it was a KW I think there would be someone that said it is way better. I can't imagine anyone on the street with a loop asking to look at your 389 up to their eyeball and saying hmmm is the knurling is off 1/100th or the pearl is too domed. Maybe its just me but cmon Angus did a stellar job and now we want to throw him to the wolves and say this is soon much better. Full disclosure I have a KW389 and might want to sell myself on it. Thoughts?
sorry meant to say I have a ZF and I maybe trying to justify why I don't need a KW but I don't see what you guys see

Im with you in this very case, which is KW 389 vs ZF 389. I can see its better than ZF, however i know some of you guys already have ZF and its true it might not be worth while to swap it to KW but all Im saying its slightly better imo. It seems pretty much like apple and samsaung fans arguing here, look guys im not a product brand orientated person. If ZF is good im with ZF, if KW is good im with KW. For this instance, which Ive never own ZF 389, so when KW came out i buy it seeing its quality slightly better (again may not worth to swap for those guys whose already own ZF) but all set2374 is saying, from what I understand is ZF just need to step up their QC and we'll all be with it im sure. Like i already said there's no need to do like apple and samsaung fans here. Peace
My ZF 389 got salt water leak trough the crystal and the whole movement is a piece of junk now. I have whole ZF 389 case-set so I will compare it directly when KW 389 arrive

I have a ZF 382 and 389 and I'm happy as a clam. If I was in the market again, I would probably go KW but I couldn't wait. Life's too short to wait for V2s.
I'm in 100% agreement. KW and Noob is literally in another league to ZF (no disrespect to ZF owners).
Picked up a ZF 389 when it was launched and whilst it 'looked' nice from a distance, as a gen collector of pams for many years, the moment it was in my hands it just felt awful in every respect.
Movement was clunky with very noisy rotor, bezel didn't turn well at all and was wobbly etc. It was like going back 5 years in rep quality. A far cry from watches like the Noob 299 with its 95% gen feel when in your hands. Unless ZF drastically improve their quality I can't see myself ever buying another piece by them.

I've had both makers the movement are identical nothing different so your statement is idiotic the factories do not manufacture independent movements the all buy from the factories and install I their cases
Sorry but that's not true.
Check the latest p9000 from kw and zf and you can clearly see a different approach to the inverted balance cock.
