Dark Green Horween with bronze stitching:

Dark Brown Shark with Bronze stitching:

What do you guys think? Any preference between the two? I think they are both nice, but I am not sure how much I would actually wear the green strap that doesn't much anything actually wear. :) Maybe I just need to buy a little more green for the wardrobe. Anyway, you're comments are appreciated.

I also happen to have a distressed dark green strap and a brown strap for the bronzo. I regard the green one as a week-end strap, and the brown one as a more formal strap, so to speak.

The Eagle has Landed !!! Using stock strap this week with bronze buckle... Not sure if it's real bronze and I can give it the patina effect, does anyone know? Will take more pics later on with better lighting, but man oh man this watch is siiiick and surpasses the crappy ZF factory...

Top observations: my Pearl is white! And the pearl is centered perfectly and has excellent line and matches the lume on dial. Amazing watch and strap is of excellent quality and smells like really good leather unlike the ZF factory where the strap came out of a Cracker Jack box !!!

I have the same rep/buckle combo on the way. Lets hope Chicago customs does not drag their heals to much.

Thoughts about set2374 comments:

Firstly many thanks set2374 to take the time to re-study your review with my comments

-Regarding working of the bezel, It is evident that your watch is different from mine in this regard. Maybe a newest batch.

-Regarding knurlling of the bezel. I really think KW is good ! Just the upper external edge is rounded and few polished instead of flat, well machined, with sharp edges and very polished. ZFac upper edge is a bit better in shape but is bad polished too

I agree it is a nice watch with a lot of personality and completely different.

Your straps are really magnificent for this watch. Just awesome

Thanks again

My biggest issue with the KW is the finish of the bezel. It's the first thing that hits me each time I see one. The ZF is brushed much better and the KW bezel just has too much sheen. I'll buy one as soon as they fix this.

Hey guys

I ordered one of Malio's 'Macchio' straps at the same time I ordered my KW. Also bought a $20 bronze buckle from eBay

These pics tell the story. I couldn't be happier!! :)

This is the best looking patina yet. How did you get it?

Has anyone attempted to remove he KW bezel? I ask because one could presumably rebrush the bezel assuming you can remove bezel markers. I don't think the brushed finish is any worse off than the ZF version but would be interesting to see the bezel construction in any case.

I think that KW bezel is not as brushed as the gen, but the difference is not noticeable mainly with some patina and a little of use. It is a little the same with ZFac although it seems with a more marked brushing

The main problem is that gen has a great contrast between the polishing of the upper external edge of the bezel (extremely well flattened by machining and n¡cely polished) and the brushing of the upper surface. This nice contrast makes more evident the brushing.
Most likely gen bezel edge is previously polished and then brushed in the upper surface, without touching the polished edge using a relatively rigid brushing tool

This contrast is not present in the reps and the brushing loses his appearance and character

It is a shame, because some seconds in a lathe making the flat edge, previous polishing of edge and knurling and then a brushing of the upper surface would make a perfect rep bezel, almost without additional costs (just the lathe machining).

I agree with you ALE, the polishing on the edge of the bezel is a small detail but makes a great difference on the watch.

Maybe a good modder can achieve the correct look?

Modder would need to remove completely the bezel and then the bezel markers
Then polishing the knurling
Then holding the clean bezel well centred in a lathe machining the external edge in the upper part
Without removing the bezel from the lathe to polish the edge helped by the turning of the lathe
Then brushing the upper surface with a sandpaper placed in a rigid piece of rubber, taking care of not to touch the machined and polished edge

That would get a perfect bezel very gen like mainly with the accurate knurling of the KW watch

Have you cleaned or added aging your 382, or is that natural patina?
