What are Malio's straps like? Quality if leather, softness. I know he's high end premium, double the cost of other strap makers. Can you tell the difference.

The Eagle has Landed !!! Using stock strap this week with bronze buckle... Not sure if it's real bronze and I can give it the patina effect, does anyone know? Will take more pics later on with better lighting, but man oh man this watch is siiiick and surpasses the crappy ZF factory...

Top observations: my Pearl is white! And the pearl is centered perfectly and has excellent line and matches the lume on dial. Amazing watch and strap is of excellent quality and smells like really good leather unlike the ZF factory where the strap came out of a Cracker Jack box !!!

Bro I love that buckle! I found a site with that one and two others in bronze. One had a tsunami on it and the other a dragon. The dragon was a little over the top but the tsunami was pretty well done. Let us know if it remains a close match to the case and bezel.

My ostrich leg came today. Very stiff and quite glossy. I ordered the vintage version so I was hoping for a bit more used and abused look but it's okay. Either it'll wear in or it'll be a dressy strap. I'm dead set on ordering that vecchio strap from malio for a more vintage look.

Does anyone know how to apply the patina to the buckle so it doesn't look so new? Lemon juice etc removes the patina which I do not want...

After bathing both head and buckle at the same time, my patina seems to be coming along at the same pace.

I've read salt water does the trick but I'm a fan of letting it form naturally. I also collect and am learning to make high end and custom knives. For carbon steel you can do anything from cutting an apple, coating in mustard, to soaking in vinegar. It seems the stuff that puts one on steel takes ot off bronze so I'm not sure other then salt water. But the forced patinas always look splotchy. Personally I'm going to let it form naturally.

Actually now that you mention it I remember reading a post where the guy put his watch in a ziplock bag with a hardboiled egg, sealed it then smashed the egg. He didn't coat the watch he just let it sit in one corner of the bag while the smashed egg was in the other causeing the sulfer fumes to effect the watch. It was a while ago that I read the post but I don't remember it being sonethibg I wanted to try. But that may have just been the pics making it look bad. I've noticed that this watch looks like shit in half the pics out there. The lighting causes a real yellow brassy look and misses all the redish bronze color.

I would love to pick up the black one. I saw a pick of sylvester stalone wearing a black luminor regatta from a movie. Great looking watch

If you look at the bottom pic of malio's macchia strap it shows the buckle and it looks great it seems to come with an aged patina

The Stallone one doesn't look like the one I have in the photo as the one in the photo has the blue and orange hands which look really cool...

Yay! Mine is in Kearny NJ USA. I'm thinking tomorrow or thursday will be the day it gets here :). I also have a beautiful blue polished stingray strap coming for my ap diver. So its goona be hard to choose. I have a feeling the bronzo will get the first wrist time because its brand new. Now that I got my first good rep I've gone a little crazy and bought up three of em real quick. I've always liked variety. Between these and what i already owned i have 7. Now I'll probably wear a different watch each day. That is after the new one gets its day in the sun.
