Actually, it's probably a great EDC philly.

You and I need to go shoot and drink beer my friend. In that order, of course. ;)

I'm down. I've finally got some free time. Work load is dying down and its now time to start the holiday season of fun. :)

Jiddy´s collection of sharp things.

Ok, here is my collection.Been lazy enough to "borrow" pic´s from the net since I don´t have all of them close.
But I´m very happy with all of them, especially the rock solid AXIS lock system in my benchmade EDC folders seriosuly impressed with how they perform.

Benchmade mini-barrage 585
(assisted opening) (will put on some griptape missing jimps topside but feels great!)
BM-580.jpg

My longtime favourite :) Probably the most comfortable knife I ever tried.
Benchmade BM-520 Presidio /Pardue

Benchmade BM-140SBKD2 Nimravus
Usually goes out with me when hunting... Not so EDC-ish but so f@#king sexy and perfect grip when you open up animals or want to get to those last tricky pieces holding the skin, gets weird looks since there IS better skinning knifes but everyone wants to try it ;)
If one knife ever looked aggressive it´s this one...

My indestructible Swedish Fällkniven S1 with a kydex sheet.

Can´t really ask for more from a knife, razor sharp, heavy, full tang and 5mm thick blade :p

Fällkniven FK- Mod U2 with SGPS (super gold powdersteel,HRC 62)
Probably the sharpest knife I own, excellent size for opening up smaller game and don´t scare people if you carry it around :p

And some classics:

Spyderco SP-C41 Native Lightweight

Spyderco Native FRN C41BK

Got some more random pocket knifes not worth mentioning but I like sharp blades, both as utility and not-so-serious collecting :)

And last my two other sharp edge utility items I use daily.

One needs to be tidy.
Thiers-Issard Sheffield Silver Steel, Blond Horn, 6/8
TI_HRLM_blhorn_detail1.jpg

And for work my 4500usd scissor with torque ridge/ convex handpolished heavy blade, worlds first vaccum sealed bearings, hand engraved Naruto Duckboard Z 5.8"
Yea I know it´s an insane amount of cash for a scissor but trust me, there is NOTHING that beats it, never sharpened it for the first 3 years and sent if off to Japan for polishing since they offer that service for the next 25 years and yes they keep a record when it´s been in for service!
Razor sharp again, you should see how deep it cuts if you not careful...

I've always had a fondness for daggers. I've got a Boker A-F Desert Storm arriving in the next few days. Hard to carry given the legal issues surrounding double edged knives. All of mine reside in the "secret" safe along side the auto's.

Went camping last weekend and thought I'd share a few inexpensive knives I used. They worked well and I might try to get one quality one for the future......

Nice thread Peck :)

How good are the HK by Benchmade?

Well, they're Benchmade knives, so there going to be good $ for $. Depends on the model specifically what steel and other materials the knife is made from. Which one are you thinking about?

I'm digging the 14701 Tanto dual blade

http://www.benchmade.com/products/14701

seems a little expensive for 440 steel and aluminum scales.

You could ante up a little more and get something really sick-

or honestly, for that price there's a lot of options. Do they have gunshows around you? They have them here in Tampa regularly and they are a great place to go blade shopping.

Lots of new goodies for this thread...

I've recently come to the conclusion that Spyderco makes some of the best knives for your money. Form, function, fit and finish are generally head and shoulders over say, a production Emerson. So much so that I've taken to buying two of each, just in case.

My current favorite EDC...

Sprint run Paramilitary 2, Earth Brown G10

As "toothy" as that edge appears it is shaving sharp.

Love the compression lock too.

Speaking of Emerson's, here's one I couldn't resist...

CQC 7 V, "V" as in v grind instead of the standard chisel grind. Tan G10 scales, limited run; this knife is a tank. Probably will remain a "safe queen" for the foreseeable future.
