Ah, gotcha! Well I won't mess up this thread posting Subs here as the subject is "aren't JKF Daytonas nice" (answer - some of them are, but some are also a bit dodgy-looking...)

I've got a 5512 (white dial print, ft first), 1665 double red coming now, along with the 1680 (all A2813 at $100 a pop). I just approved the QC pics for the two replacing the Daytona tonight. Another nice trio of vintagizing projects... Tonight I've stripped a 6538 (also from M) that'll be going in the big tupperware container of rocks and screws tomorrow...

JKF or not, I think it looks great and KJ wrote great things about it. If it’s KJ approved, it’s perfect for me.

Likewise. I don't know this watch, the QC pics looked exactly the same as yours, I really don't know what I'm looking for but if KJ blows his load then take my money!!

Great experience dealing with MR so far. I feel a bit bad not going to Mary for this because I know she can get them and I owe her a watch or two but I couldn't be assed with buying Crypto at the moment. Transferwise is a bloody god send!

Okay, so which of the vintage Daytonas are we ruling out due to inaccurate representation of its genuine counterpart. Just the PN dials?

They’re the ones with the most obvious proportional inaccuracies - they jump out at me because a) the PN design is so iconic, b) it’s a very simple design - so any flaws are amplified, and c) I’ve been looking for a good one for a long time (but ideally don’t want to spend too much!). There are also variations on the theme that JKF offer which compound the errors - like ones with dials that have the “oyster” line, but don’t have screw-down crowns, and dials with the “Art Deco” subdial font in the screw-down crown case.

I think I’m going to go with the white dial KJ posted originally it’s appears to be pretty good.

I did see this 6234 pre Daytona briefly, one that looked interesting (not “high grade” though)
