They offer 2 variations as far as the sub hand at 6. Fixed or moveable (in sync with hr hand)

From the website. ...
Please note that: we have two option:
this watch sub hand at 6:00 position not able to move. for show only.
and
this watch sub hand at 6:00 position able to move. but it's just same function as hour hand.

Any advantages/disadvantages with either one of these? Preferences?

I prefer the fixed 6 o'clock subdial. Anyone familiar with chronos will know if 2 subdial hands are moving (not reset to 12 o'clock) AND the large chrono hand is NOT moving, something is wrong. Then again, you may like having an AM/PM indicator and not care what others think.

You would seldom if ever need the hours totalizer (6 o'clock subdial) anyway, so not having it function is not a big deal.

Anyone had a gold one of these?

Guessing it's the usual fare of miniscule electroplating

Fast! I'm impressed with the Marv man. Ordering some more from him today.

He’s been very quick. Two days just talking about the availability and then, payment made and within 18 hours, QC. Hoping for a tracking number today or tomorrow. How quick is his DHL?

Mine was 5 days from tracking number receipt to delivery in US, at a very high delivery time the week before Christmas.

Gotta love M - he must have the best connection to the factory. My last two orders (each for 3 JKF Subs) went from first email to QC pics (all approved) within the space of 3 to 4 days.

Woo! Just got my QC pics for the Daytona and the 1680, having put in my order on Christmas eve.

I've accepted both - although TBH, I'm not overly impressed by the JKF "Newman dial" Daytona - it's quite a long way off. M tells me that JK has altered their dial design, so there's now a small gap between the 6 subdial and the outer track at the bottom. Which would be great (better than the bleeding version), but this has also coincided with the 3 and 6 subdials moving inboard further, and the subdials all looking a little smaller than the old design. Which, all in all, leads to a pretty poor approximation of a PN dial. Here's a quick comparison image I've put together with all three dials (gen, new JK and old JK) the same size. My QC pic for the Daytona is the middle one:

So as I say, I accepted the Daytona - given that it's the only PN option and for the price it's hard to complain. What I'd really like to do though is find a better dial with larger, correctly positioned subdials and replace the JK one. If anyone happens to have any leads as to where I might source one, then please let me know!

EDIT: Because I mentioned to M that I'd want to replace the PN dial, he offered to exchange the Daytona for a different model - and I've decided to go that route instead. Just checking what's available... EDIT EDIT: So all the PN dial watches look really off. That being the case, I'm going to ditch the Daytona idea for the time being (as I already have a silver dial vintage that I'm happy enough with) and get a couple more JKF Subs instead... heh.

You know me - always happy to show pics Stu - but in this case, of what? I can show pics of the silver Daytona - but I have no idea what factory it's from (it was an M2M sale here).
