Help a PAM noob choose a first watch please

IMO the best option of this PAM 390 is the KW (leving aside Noob)
Mainly if you get a watch with the lug holes a bit less high than usually (maybe the only issue of this KW case)
At this moment you can assure nothing about the version of Luminor 44mm case that you will receive. H maker is the more sure at this regard, because it seems they have finished the old cases, anyway you could get an old case from an offer

So I've just ordered a pam 000 N h factory on rubber strap. I ordered the rubber strap as I've read it is superior to the rep leather and that generally one would order an aftermarket leather.

Can you all please advise, is there anything I should be looking out for qc-wise with this watch? Is there a thread for posting qc pics when we have a question?

Also regarding straps. When you guys use aftermarket straps do you use an unbranded keeper? Or is it possible to use a rep keeper on an aftermarket leather?

Is it advisable that I should order some blue loctite for the crown guard screws?

Sorry I called it a keeper but it's a buckle. I went on Pana time and looked at some straps.

So do you guys use unbranded buckles on your aftermarket strap? Or do you unscrew the rep branded buckle from the rep strap and use it on the aftermarket leather? Is it possible to order extra rep branded buckles from the td to be used on an aftermarket leather.

I normally use unbranded as I prefer 24/24 straps with sewn in buckle while the rep buckle is 22. Of course you can use the rep buckle on any other strap since it's screwed in, just be sure to order a 24/22 strap

I've seen some straps with HUGE buckles and I'm not sure I like that but we will see. Are they huge because they are fir a 24mm strap or is that just a style?

It was a great post with very useful information. So you went with the 000 eh? I still like the 111 the best and despite Ale's sage advice about it being a 3.5 rather than a true v4, I've decided to bite the bullet and get it anyway since that's my favorite design amongst all the Pams, just can't wait any longer. Just ordered from puretime, waiting for QC pics. You received QC yet maron?
The asso strap it comes on looks pretty damn nice from the puretime video.

Yeah the quality actually looked really really good! But of course I'd have to get it in person first to assess it. I keep looking at Pam straps now, there are a lot! Gunny seems to have a good range at moderate prices. Any recommendations of other strap makers? (First time Pam soon to be owner)

Outside of the resident strap makers, I've seen straps at moderate pricing from Saxon Verreno, Bosphorus, Escobar, KingNob to name a few. But I'm sure there are others whom I have not yet encountered.

Yeah I opted for the 000. I thought if I'm going out of my comfort zone to try a new brand and style I might as well try a base model too!

I do really like the 111 but I'm seeing so many shitty engravings on the movement so watch out for that. I also figure since it's the most popular model it will likely be around for a while and I can pick one up later.

I ordered mine with rubber since I knew I'd end up replacing the rep strap with aftermarket anyway.

I actually held off on sending payment because I knew the dealers are so busy before cny. I'm going to pay on February 5th instead so hopefully they won't be as rushed and I can get better qc.

But now I've got the shakes! I was really looking forward to a new watch right away

A 292 is always a good idea. It's very light and easy wearing. Surprisingly, it goes well with all kinds of outfits.

Sead told me last day to ship is the 19th so I decided I would wait. I could also tell by his communications that he was really busy. Intime told me the factories are closing on the 19th also.

So I thought it would be smoother and easier to wait. I could expect better and less rushed service and qc then
