Have also received additional QC pics of my ordered V3 yesterday. As mentioned in an earlier post, frisbee GMT hand and the new QC pics show the movement that shigetty mentioned above:

>>>
This GMF V2 jubilee has the 3285 engraving. This movement looks like exactly the same with mine. Rolex logo on the rotor, etc.
https://trustytime.shop/index.php?ma...ducts_id=21367
>>>

All GMF CHS V2's have the 2824 timebomb movement as that web link shows.

If your V3 QC shows this movement, and especially with the Frisbee hand, it's a hard NO. Engravings mean nothing, as you see.

Is it the TDs trying to sell these as V3 3186 or is GMF labeling old versions as V3 3186...?

I put the blame on the factory for this. Looks like a way to maximize profit by passing off a V2 as a V3. Forum reppers like us make up an extremely small percentage of sales while huge volumes of sales go to the Chinese public. Many of whom do not know or care about these details.

TDs would not knowingly participate in this deception IMO. We are too knowledgeable for it to last long and the damage would not be worth a few price-jacked sales.

I would RL definitely. If you ask for a new watch, there's a chance it will come with VR3185. My 1st QC showed the frisbee GMT hand too, and I RL’d only for that. I guess it had the 2824 timebomb movement also.

I ordered a GMT II BLRO GMF v3 and just received my QC pics. As this is my first rep, I would like to know what some more experienced users think:

1. Bezel
I knew that the colors would be off and there is a thin white line between at the transition. The transition points are looking good to me (not filling the 8 and in the middle of the 6). But what do you think about the 'hump' in the '8' at 9 pm (top view)? Is it just the angle/perspective? Already thinking about buying a custom made bezel which is more close to the gen.

2. Date Wheel
Looking a bit off to the bottom (especially the 22)... What do you think?

3. Hand Alignment
I don't know if this is even a thing (just noticed): The minute hand seems to be off by ~30 seconds (it is on marker when the seconds hand is at around 30s)?

4. Movement
I've read that the current GMF v3 reps are sent out with a VR3185 movement. Can you guys spot if this is a VR3185? I've just asked the TD to move to crown to position 2 and turn the crown clockwise. Waiting for the answer.

After reading the rules for posting QC pics, asking specific questions should be allowed - please correct me, if I'm wrong.

...new emails, more fun, stubbornly trying to force this watch onto me.
Referring to the photos on his website, I asked the dealer if he agrees that his QC pics show a totally different movement, which is not a 3186 clone:
"It is a SA3186 , it has the red rolex wheel...there is no CHS movement with a 3186 label"
How ignorant can people be, even if there would be no engravings on the movement, the parts are completely different arranged, you don even need to inspect the winding mech, the balance is on the opposite side...

You can ask Lana to remove the caseback and take a picture of the movement that would be easier to confirm if it’s VR3185.

With this watch especially I think for anyone considering getting a GMF V3 it’s important to go with a TD that you think is more accommodating if you want to make sure you’re getting the right movement.

I just got QC pictures and asked the TD for a picture of the movement! Lucky enough it is the VR3185 on the CHNR V3 and approved QC.

hey i’ve been reading this thread for a while and i got the GMF v3 BLNR and i had to ask lana for movement video and movement picture. i only got a movement picture. so i was wondering if there is any way to tell apart the VR movement from the SA movement by looking at the movement from a picture also how does the watch itself look.

Looks like the VR movement to me. I don't know the names of all the parts, but the gold around the ruby in your middle pick is one of the places to look

Here is a very helpful post from KJ2020 on how to identify the movement... Also this thread (Rep Rolex GMT movements explained) is highly recommended.

Overall this is excellent sample - about 9.7/10.0 as reps go. Take it wothout hesitation if you can confirm it has a VR movement.

Insert
These are made in two pieces. It's unavoidable that there will be joint signs in the 8 and the 6. Thete are no better aftermarket or custom Pepsi inserts available. Yours is as good as it gets (aside from Noob). The red can be touched up a little at the 6, nothing can be done about speed bumps.

Datewheel
Your dares are fine. One date (22) s not going to be off more than others. Angle of view changes the apparent position of the numeral.

Are my eyes deceiving me?

Hands
If the minute hand is off from the hour hand, that is a problem. The second hand off from the minute hand is not. You fix it by waiting for second hand to get to 12, pull out the crown (hacking), then set the minute hand exactly to a minute tic.

So sorry to hear about this bro. You could get a mod involved via a help ticket if you are at an impass with the TD.

Thank you very much! It's of great help to get such an experienced view! Will wait for the movement pics and then GL if it's a VR3185.

Several other things I had noticed about yours that are worrh mentioning.

1) The 6 9 12 hour markers have diagonal tip cuts on the corners that give the illusion of rounded corners. Not as good as actual rounded corners but a definite step up from square corners like most rep dial markers have.

ShEDE.jpg

2) The rehaut engraving is pretty much perfectly aligned. This has long been a fault of GMF Subs and GMTs. Look at this one between 35 - 45. It's a $1K fully wrapped GMF Bluesy that I rejected and replaced with 3 other reps. TD wasn't happy but sorry not having that on a $1K watch. R's at 34 and 39 instead of 35 and 40, X at 43 instead of 44, uneven spacing, etc.

IMG-7249.jpg

3) The 1's on the insert have better serifs. The serif tips are parallel to the 1 main body instead of diagonal. Small detail but nice to see that fixed. It's like the gen in that respect, and makes the numerals appear smoother with no odd angular element.

Compare to the diagonal serif tips here
