GMF released a GMT 3186 clone movement

Is it worth to buy the entire GMF watch just for the insert? This insert will still need the PPM. Part of me says, get the watch and then flip it to recoup some of the price (well it would still be a pretty expensive insert purchase ). The other part of me says, wait...CF may have a batman bezel soon. Decisions, decisions...

I missed this esrlier. I think this is just the angle of the one qc I selected that make it seeem like it’s curved.

Ive been making those little collages comparing different sections and on some pics, you get that sort of flange probably from a combo of light/shadows along with a very narrow cross section.

This is not an SH, it's an SA which is worse. Yes the VR is *THAT* much better. The SA can last years, YMMV.

There are so far only 3 true 3185/6 clones being offered, listed here in order of best to worst

VRF - VR3185 based on VR3135
ARF - SH3186 based on SH3135
GMF - SA3186 based on SA3135

Not coincidentally the 3135 movements these GMTs are based on are also ranked in the same order of best to worst.

There are many other threads discussing the pros and cons of 3135 movements, it is general knowledge that the SA3135 commonly used by BP/GMF and Noob among others, is the least preferred of the available clone 3135s.

The Noob CHS timebomb is a modified 2824. Noob has not offered a true clone 3186 as of yet.

There are only three of these new GMF releases with true clone movements. 116710LN, BLNR, and 116713LN. Look at the release dates in the web ads. Factories and dealers often called the 2824 CHS an "A3186" also, this is misleading and they are not true clones like these three new releases. Looking at the movement pics will confirm this.

VR3185 movements are readily available and should be a 1:1 swap into the GMF case. Or mix and match to get the best of all worlds.

Also, this SA3186 hour jumps backwards from gen/VR/SH which means is likely has a proprietary jump click that is not replaceable by a gen part like the others are.

Hazing, Congrats on your QC! I also received my QC and, let me tell you, I am ecstatic. Check it out, guys. GMF v3 ICHS with an amazing insert! I also note that the crystal seems to sit considerably lower than some of the other photos I have seen of those with ICHS. Can anyone confirm? I've already approved and it's being shipped out soon, but I knew everyone had been watching so I thought I would share.

It looks good, buddy. We love to see QC pics around here especially when a model is new.

I am getting excited for mine too. Both of them (I have. Vrf LN on its way too. Actually, all 3 as I have. VSF 985 on its way too! Sheesh.... Its out of control.) but I am super excited too. I can't wait to get it in hand and see how it works and functions. I've been dying for a GMT that has the date function that goes forward and back.

Nut back to your watch. At least we have an insert that's showing some consistency between watches. It looks great and I'm starting to see (hope) it's a solid feature on the V3 and not a hit or miss.


Hopefully those first few was just the factory trying to get rid of the last of their V2s.

The GMFs that are the subject of this thread are brand new true clone SA3186s, not older clones.

VRF probably has ownership rights to VR movements like Noob has with SA4130.

That looks great bro, one of the best rep BLNR inserts I've seen. Looks like the V3 inserts have arrived!

The date window is a little smaller on the ETA dial as Robi01 pointed out. Sometimes that happens with ETA dials. The SA3186 dial is gen-spec. I don't think you will notice it at all in daily use. You can also see the hand stack difference in this pic.

Most 6 digit gen Rolex GMT movements are based on the 3135 with GMT bits added.

The exception would be gen 1267xx series GMTs which are based on the 3235.

All of the rep true clone GMT movements are based on "older" 3135s. I tried to make that clear here:

I just hope these new BLNR insert markers aren't white. I recently bought this blue dial GMF GMT and the insert markers were white, much to my surprise. I've already repainted it silver, but the watch is going to get a Noob Pepsi insert anyway.
