Yah, I don’t trust Reddit as a credible source lol maybe they’re just calling it v6 since it has the updated crown.

Hi mate,
Private from my Watchsmith….
Enjoy your Polar…it’s a great Summerwatch![]()
Thank you very much for this!I’ve worked on a couple of these SH3285 movements now, and I’ve seen some issues with the hour jumping mechanism. I’ve found the issue is that the hour jumping pinion (red arrow) can pop up and off the hour jumping spring (blue arrow). This can result in the hour hand not “indexing” anymore, it won’t jump but it’ll simply spring quickly like it would if it was jumping, but it doesn’t hop, it just moves continuously. My fix for this was to adjust the jewel height on the date plate bridge down slightly to keep the pinion more firmly pressed down onto the jumper spring. That seems to have solved the issue. These are probably just teething pains for this movement. With time, I expect it will be as reliable as the vr3235.

I suspect it’s random from production. But as movements break, feedback will get back to Shanghai movement factory and they’ll implement tighter QC on this jewel’s position in subsequent batches of movement production.Thank you very much for this!
And what may cause this issue? Or is it totally random from production process?
