GMF Explorer II 226570 with VR3285 Made with Gen as Reference

Dang it! I purchased the black one off someone before I read through this whole thread. The one I purchased has the larger crown. It wouldn't have bothered me, but it will knowing that they have been updated. Question, would a TD be able to source me the new crown? Would I also need a new tube, or do we think it works with the previous tube? Thanks!

Not that I can find, I only see that post above mine and a few mentions on Reddit. Most QC pics I see people.post still have the larger crown. I'll get mine in hand and see if it is a big deal or not. Most just seem so obviously large compared to gen.

Another question, the seller I purchased from referred to it as a V6. I can't find any mention of a GMF V6, just V5. Can anyone shed some light on what current version they are at, or if there even is an official version?

Just ordered a GMF v2 polar with Jtime myself. I too would love to hear how many of you are seeing QC with the updated crowns.

V2? How many versions are available? I’m surprised that if there is already a V6, you are getting a v2. Am I missing something?

I’m legitimately confused, I had ordered a black bezel one as soon as it came out. But my middle man watchmaker fucked up and only got a batch polars, so I decided to get a CF gmt master ii that was available instead.
Now I’m waiting for clarification before I order the GMF explorer 2. I’ll want the updated crown if there is officially an improved version…

Yes, this thing is massive for my 6.4in wrist which is already barely keeping my Pepsi in check. This thing would blow past my wrists...

Guess a 5 digit Explorer is up but BP 16570 OOTB is only moderately ok, and a truly accurate one has to be crafted

I haven’t tried it yet, but I might have similar concerns. My VSF sub fits just right. Now waiting for the CF Pepsi, so hopefully that will fit as the sub.
I really love the explorer 2 black dial though. The bezel is so good.

I'm not entirely sure there is a V6. It is a non-TD on FB that I purchased it from. It is odd looking at multiple TD sites, some have the larger crown, others have the slimmer crown more similar to gen. Trusty has a mix of pictures featuring both crowns.

Dang, reading this post is dangerous to my pocket book - actually this site in general i couldn't help it but gotten the polar from Trusty for a month now. Love it. I don't have an eye to tell if the crown is large or not, though. Maybe the timeline of my purchased helps if the TD has an upgrade since...

Yours has the larger crown I'm afraid @fotos. Just look at some pics of the gens and you will see that the textured portion of the crown is much narrower.
