GF's Navitimer 43mm not perfect?

Well, at some point, I’d like to do a review of the GF, but I’m not too sure I’m knowledgeable enough for it to be taken too seriously...
I do want to say that I think the GF ought in fact replace the JF as the best or “only” 01 navitimer 01 rep...
The “B” logo is actually not too bad. (I want to go back to the breitling boutique and try on the Gen of the exact rep I have and compare...)
The crystal is pretty good. Better than BP not quite as amazing as the JF I will say. Polish is great and the blue color is spot on!
The date wheel, yes, sunken, but not as bad as the JF or at least maybe it’s just a bit bigger than the JF cutout. Slide rule is great, although, my particular rep is a bit mis aligned for which I blame myself and won’t live it down too easily...
The bracelet is like the gen in that it has the Easy link type micro adjustment, which for me makes it not fit as well as the other navi bracelets!
What sticks out to me the most is that the build quality was great!!!
the watch came all wrapped with the gf sapphire sticker, wrapped with the gf breitling sticker and every inch of the watch was wrapped. It was not crazy dirty like the BP’s and others I’ve gotten!
I am in love with it and it is definitely my favorite rep, although I do have the blue dial world on the way to complete the set of blue navi reps (I sold off the JF as they don’t make a blue navitimer 01 with red chrono stick.... but I guess they don’t make a blueish green or black a23322 with silver sub dials either)
So, yes, I do think the GF is worth it and a great rep to get!! The “B” is in my opinion not as bad as at least I made it out to be!!
Nice review man, very much look forward to mine arriving! Begs to be on a leather strap though
The sunken date is much less noticeable on this model than the white dial or white window types, so that's good. All in all, very impressed!

It just looks like nothing... like you can’t see the date..
like a sunken date wheel...
Wow thanks for the nice pics. I want to order one as well. I'm still not sure which dial I go for. The white one looks decent to me but than you have a white date plate, which means the sunken date is much visible I guess.
I also like the blue dial a lot but I have heard that the blue dials shiny effect is often a problem of reps. Slanglican you mentioned the blue color is spot on, can you please say something about the "holographic" effect of it? (don't know how to discribe this properly - hoping you know what I mean)

If by holographic, you mean the sunburst dial, I know what you mean or if you mean the AR costing I know what you mean.. otherwise, I’m not too sure...
but yes, the sunburst effect is really well don’t imo... it is a really really good rep! The AR is decent! Nothing exceptional but not horrible...

This is Gen - I didn’t have enough time for a full post this morning but I don’t think there really is a decent navitimer rep out there. I own several gen Breitlings and in most cases the crystal is an instant tell. Breiting uses double sided AR, the effect is instantly noticeable even from a few feet away. The recessed date window is also noticeable to me, but maybe its because I know Breitling well; the movement being the cause as there is no clone B01 movement which in itself is quite unique. The irony is that Breitling should be an easy rep as many of their watches use the valjoux ..including variations of the navitimer.
Aside from that, its the crispness of the printing and the quality of the dial - the sunburst effect and the reflective quality of the print IMO cannot be repped without significant expense. Not to be a debbie downer here but just my two cents.

Also, the reps being posted here have a huge issue with the subdial placement and spacing, another instant tell

Well... yeah no shit...(most of us know the flaws and live with them anyway)
and you’re right there is not a GREAT navitimer 01 rep!
Except for the BP world black dial, I think the white BP a23322 is the closest/best I’ve seen...
Especially when you know the product well and own one, of course you’re going to be able nitpick every little tell that exists... like the spacing and printing, but for the most part no one is looking at these things with that much scrutiny unless you’re trying to fool people and/or posting pics of them on fb groups or wherever the hip kids are posting pics these days...
A lot of us enjoy the reps even with their flaws...

there are a couple decent navitimer reps!
BP has two that are pretty good!
The BP navitimer world - black dial is really good (considered super rep)!
rhe BP A23322 navitimer white dial sticks! (Has correct spacing, correct datewheel, correct size, correct font...
those are your two best options for the most “accurate”! but personally I love the GF rep (the date wheel bid an eye soar)

My bad... I meant the date wheel on the GF navitimer rep is an eye sore.. It sucks.. don’t understand why the GF chronomat doesn’t have the raised dial/appearance of sunken date wheel, but the navitimer does!!
All they need to do is just make the New 41mm with the 6,9,12 setup... hopefully they will soon!!
