Mind sharing where you sourced that gilt dial from and how much it was? :)

I recently recieved one and love it compare to the flimsy thin font POS that came on the one I got from Trusty

Slow is best. I mix hot water 1 to 1 with bleach. take it out every 7 minutes and run it under hot water with 3000 grit sandpaper, dry off and dunk it back in until desired fade

Operation "fading insert" done!!!!! As suggested by yodog i used hot water and bleach....instead of 3000 grit sandpaper, i used a 600 with a very soft touch...;-)
The result, IMHO, is as i expected, not a perfect work (it is the first time!!! ;-) but acceptable.
And now some pics, total work needs 3/4 step of "bathing" and "smoothing" , 20 minutes for this kind of aging:

Over the years I've noticed that bleaches from different brands all fade inserts at different speeds... your insert doesn't look too bad but you got too heavy handed with the sanding - there shouldn't be too much of a fade on the inner diameter. 600 grit is a bit too rough, the purpose of sandpaper is to loosen spots on the insert during fading so when you dunk it back in the bleach it will melt away to produce a more even fade

Hi mate,

thanks for the appreciation!
The DWO is gen, as for the crown and the plexi....(plexi+dwo gen are a must for a gen-spec result)

Should have known! Alright then I'll just buy a gen open 6&9 date wheel and use it as an overlay

thanks!

I just ordered one of each of milk’s inserts - fuchsia and BLRO. Great price and a very nice maker/seller. Paid today and they’re on the way! I’m looking forward to trying not to ruin them when doing the aging... They will have pride of place fitted to my 1675 build, which will be based around the case, also from milk, that I won in the RWI Crimbo raffle!
