It also depends if the bezel is actually gen spec. I've purchased at least two bezel assemblies (probably from eBay) that were slightly smaller than genuine. That's usually why people get stuck having to sand the inserts. I'm not sure about the dimensions of the very first 1675 bezel assembly or inserts, but if there were any issues, they have been corrected.
Of course they are. They are vastly different measurements. Anything for a sapphire crystal will have a larger inside diameter and smaller outside diameter. A vintage insert won't fit over a sapphire crystal. The inside will rub the crystal.The inserts are different diameters depending on if the watch has an acrylic or sapphire crystal
