Dear factory, I put in an order for the V1 a month or two back. Angus, when can I get one of these? I am out the original price of the V1. V2 if cheaper, I want a rebate and the fecking watch.. Round about Rant over.
Signed,
Veteran impatient noob.
If the V2 is cheaper, I'll buy your V1 for what you paid for it, as that's the caring type of guy I am!
Has anyone got qc from the 2nd batch from pt? Was promised many times I would get watch from this batch because I been on waiting list a loooooong time
but now it's sold out at all other Tds so guessing I'm out of luck.
A lot of TDs sold the FF recently, so then he must have shared the 50 finished watches with other TDs.
Shiet if that is all they need, I will send them my own movement. lol Quit wasting time. I'd rather a gen 2824 anyway. Peace out.
This might be total BS, but it what I was told by a TD:
Noob have run out of movements for these watches, the TD managed to get 50 movements and Noob agreed to build them into the otherwise finished watches and let him sell them. This is apparently the batch which hit the shelves earlier this week and sold out in one evening.
As for the rest of batch two, it sounds like watches are built but movements are needed, hence why other TDs keep saying "10 days" and then "don't know" then "soon, hopefully".
he already retired and enjoying good life, nfac is headed by a new chief. (was his left right hand man, now the chief) You see maker usually don't sell/distribute themselves, they have appointed "AD"s, they do exist in the rep world too..The plot thickens...
I've been speaking to another person well placed in the industry and he has told me that Noob Factory has pretty much closed down due to the owner wanting to retire. He has passed a lot of his staff and stock onto what we now as J12 Factory, hence why a lot of Noob watches have gone "out of stock" seemingly permanently when they could have sold 5 times as many, and J12 are starting to turn out improved versions of the V2 and 3 Noob sub.
The final part I found super interesting is that TDs can't buy direct from J12, they have to use the AD for J12 products known as Z-fac...
I find this really interesting as, apparently, not all TDs have the same influence with Z-fac and so those who used to have ready access to Noob products may no longer. It also makes me wonder who makes the Tudor Black Bay rep, as I think we assumed Z-Fac made them?
The good news is that more Fifty Fathoms are on the way, it'll just be a drip feed and the backlog might not get cleared "fairly" as some dealers might get fewer than others.
Again, all of the above is just what I've been told by someone I don't think has any case to spread misinformation.
