I avoided chiming in on this until now. This is becoming the preferred method of problem resolution anymore. Have a problem with a dealer, do not get a response in a couple of days, and then go to every forum and tear the dealer a new a**hole.

not to dispute DVN reputation or praise leograye, but in general sometimes it takes a public post to get any ball rollin' - particularly if the dealer doesnt respond to mails or pm's.

Crick I am not cheerleading for DSN, my problem is that this is getting to be too common. By his own post this was not given time to resolve, but yet he felt the only way to get the attention he feels he deserved was to smear this garbage all over the forums. I also took umbrage with the fact that the last two times this was done it was done by people with their very first post here. You know it is not many times I get angry and take offence with most people, but this practice burns my ass. You can support this form of problem resolution if you like, but I do not have to like it. As for my warning to play nice a few posts back. i do not know what the criteria is for proper etiquette on this forum obviously, because it seems to be OK to talk a ton of crap from some one time poster to one of the most respected members of our forum, but not alright to take exception with it. If you act like a jerk you deserve to be called on it. His 12 year old threat to H-U was uncalled for. He stuck his nose over here where no one knows him and got it snapped off. He posted, be prepared.

yup, totally understand.

my problem - and this LITERALLY is a problem that it is my mental facilities - is i like to state the bullshit obvious "OHhhhh but sometimes it's a good thing to post on the forum in public."

if you had made the statement "it is better to post in public," i would have probably said "OOhhhh but sometimes it's good to settle in PM and let the dealer resolve with time." :D

...

man! that's irritating! i annoy myself.

leograye I feel for ya!
If it's any consolation there are actually more people here who agree with you than disagree, the silent members represent the majority of the members here and I am pretty sure most of them have dealers like DSN figured out.

I spent several thousand dollars on DSN before I finally got wise, never once did I get what I paid for from him.
In his defense though sometimes I got more than I paid for sometimes less, sometimes crap, but still never did I get exactly what I asked for.

Don't let people who worship our dealers fool you, nobody here walks on water! and the resident worshipers don't get special treatment either.

If you are happy tell us about it, if you are unhappy tell us about it, and I don't give a shnit how many posts you have either!

keep on ranting!!

@You know what Old Crowe? I agree with you regarding this hobby in general. I'm not excluding everyone here. This hobby can get frustrating, I myself have been buying gens. I just recently bought the DSN 082 and we'll see how it goes.

hehe it's good for the soul to rant every once and a while...
My very first replica purchase was two DOA watches from EL
It was a rocky start and if it wasn't for the fact that I fixed one of them myself it probably would have been my last purchase.

I don't hold a grudge against DSN in fact I find it kind of amusing that he doesn't' send the right stuff... ever.
replica buying is often stressful even when things go right. When they go wrong its' easy to think the entire community is one big conspiracy to get your money :D ...

How is it I can read everyones opinion and agree with all of them, could everyone be right?
Do we really belong to a community?? Feels more like a village to me...a village with a cadre of malcontent misfits, you know, like a cell of indoctrinated leaders active in promoting the interests of a revolution.

I like it here. :D

i was always saying that i would be willing to pay $ 50 more for a....lets say 10 point QC...watch arrives flawless...no headaches...no sending back...no waiting....WIN : WIN situation for everybody.

my last few deliveries from DVSN have really improved ....nothing stripped, CG better then ever before, clean dial.
swiss movement...nicely engraved caseback...i am happy for the price.
and i also will sure say so if its otherwise !

all i can say about this is i have seen many incidents with dealers in this hobby over the last few years that were ignored until it was taken public. if all other avenues have been exhausted i have no problem with it at all. if i ever get put into that position again i will damn sure do it if that is what it come down to.

I wasn't saying that you weren't allowed to express your opinion, I just believe the name calling isn't necessary to get your point across. Hence, I only edited out the profanity/name calling, not the jist of your post.

I consider h_u a personal friend (and count myself lucky to do so). leo's "big boys" post/threat was so laughable that I didn't really think it needed to be addressed. You felt otherwise, and that's fine, but please show a little bit of respect to other members in your disagreement.

I would do the same to a post from leograye, h_u or anyone.

Leo, I'm sorry that you felt the need to edit all your posts. You have a legitimate gripe and one that is not new to any dealer, but especially to DSN. As OldeCrowe pointed out, DSN seems extra prone to sending you the wrong stuff. Sometimes to your benefit, sometimes not, sadly.

The only time I look to DSN now is for a custom order, or when he has something that is hands-down better than anyone else is offering. In those cases, I steel myself for QC issues or wrong details. Just like when I ordered my most recent DSN watch, an unbranded 47mm Cali dial. The first one came with the plexi crystal instead of the sapphire that I ordered and paid for AND a DOA movement. However, he sent a replacement out right away without waiting to receive the wrong watch back (I've had dealers that refused to send out replacement watches until they received the initial watch back), albeit return shipping was at my expense.

So, it's frustrating and annoying, but I keep buying because I know he'll make it right in the end.

I hope this thread hasn't put you off our forum for good. I'd like to see you around...

It is very sad that i am being victimised,
To actually be warned off to other sellers is a disgusting trait of certain members having something to hide.
I edited the posts so that in future I can still do business with honest forthright people.
I like these forums very much, and see the merit where people cannot afford the real thing.
This in turn seems to eventuate in buying a Gen at some stage anyway, whether the cheaper, or as money dictates the more elaborate.
If it makes you fell good, that is the object of the mission.
I will still kick butt if some supplier does the wrong thing, but lets hope my rant does some positive good for better product.
It is now up to every member to say "If I am paying top dollar - dont send me crap".
Cheers
leo

One of the reasons I joined RWI was the freedom to speak ones mind, unlike some other forums that are stifled and stuffy and won't allow any real honesty...we are a passionate bunch and at times some will get their feathers ruffled, but never any reason why things can't be worked...now let me get you UNvictimized Leo, meet me in the VIP lounge, drinks are on me. :D

As a further post.................This is a simple solution to a big problem.
When ordering from a dealer - make them send you a photo of the actual watch before shipping.
This will really crap the dropshippers, the ones who tell you they aren't.
This way, you know that you can compare the watch you receive with the pics.
We all know a lot of dealers use Gen pic's to make the site look good.
You insist on this when buying from a Forum member in VIP or general sales areas.
You will know if the Cannon Pin, Rehaut, Crown, CG or whatever is off before you say YES.
Keep the bastards honest I say...............................
