Honestly though, with ALL the problems that have come up in the past while about DSN watches, maybe something should be looked at or revisited. I had nothing but issues with my 000, and then on top of everything else realizing the dial was crooked really send me over the edge, especially since I had to take the watch apart, sand off the feet and then through trial and error glue it down straight. To add insult to injury the replacement 000 I recieved was WORSE than the first one in the fact that it had the wrong crown guard (standard rep), stripped crown guard holes, and the wrong crown (standard rep), which sucks, especially since we pay for his 'quality' crowns, etc, etc. I had to take both watches, at MY EXPENSE of $75 and after MY EXPENSE of paying the duty on the second watch that came in of roughly $125 to a watchsmith to make one watch out of two, and really there are still scratches on the A/R because the lesser of two evils was using the first case with the stripped screw holes. (as a side note, I am taking the watch to a local optometrist to have the AR chemically removed).

I have been around this forum for some time now, and feel that I make some educated posts.

Personally, I think DSN in his blog is telling us he is a drop shipper because of his two employees that take care of the watches.

Personally, I think DSN uses his "returned for repair" cases and watches cleans them up and recycles them to "first time buyers." Come on, from a business standpoint don't you think that is the right choice? Zellers up in Canada, and I am sure JC Penny in the States takes the returns repackages where necessary and puts them back out on the shelf. So he isn't doing anything wrong in that sence, HOWEVER, and this is a big however, the recyling of sub-par cases with stripped threads is just wrong on many levels. Me thinks that he provides the spring bars and extra strap to newbie purchasers to hope that there are no complaints on the watch. If only one or two in ten complain, then he is ahead of the game.

Maybe we need to revisit him. I know I am going to get flamed for this, but maybe, just maybe he should be put on probation for a bit to see if the quality comes back up. He obviously is letting it slip, and since we are paying premium prices we should be expecting a premium product. Plain and simple.

Cheers mates.

Nothing speaks louder than taking your business elsewhere...

DSN's spotty QC is well documented and I've been a victim of it myself more than once.

If you're not talking about some of DSN's watches that no one else offers, you've always got options.

I've encountered problems with DSN too, but he gets them fixed everytime. I believe he isn't someone that hides when comes to problems...

After all, we are buying reps.. things like this do happen even with gen watches. I may not understand the adverse emotions you are going through, but i think the tone you set is unnecessary..

Anyway, i hope you have your problems fixed eventually...

Personally, I think DSN uses his "returned for repair" cases and watches cleans them up and recycles them to "first time buyers."

I think there may be something to that. I bought only one DSN PAM 111H and have to say it has been flawless. Perfect crown, cg, lume. I guess i was "lucky". I mean i sent $330.00 to an asian man I never met froma picture of a watch that I have never seen in person. If you take a step back it's crazy to think that but a leap of faith must be taken to merit anything. HE could have easily just taken the $$ and shipped an empty box and then I would have no recourse. Or not done anything for that fact.

I think the DSN cutomers should chime in and I mean all here and we can get a ratio of good to bad. I am sure he must personally handle some of the watches and the others are drop shipped or sub par or whatever reason he may have. If could only imagiine his profit margin , it must be like the rest of the dealers that nearly make 100% profit.

SO I will chime in first:

DSN PAM 111H- No problems or shortcomings to date. 3 mos after purchase running fast due to my exposure to high magnetic field.

EVeryone has a level of expectation unfortuately those levels are different and not met with every single watch purchase. The caveat always applies when purchasing from any dealer whether "trusted" or not. It can be a crapshoot at times but considering the strange nature of this hobby, surprisingly most have good experiences. When things don't go well the lesson is for all of us and especially for the dealers to improve their methods, but they will only be held accountable up to a point, from that point on it is up to us to know one thing, buying reps can be a very risky and in more ways than just getting a broken watch....Welcome to the forum LoL.

And all this time I thought I was alone. I was in the first batch of PVD's when he first released them. First off I paid the extra 50 dollars or whatever for the swiss movement, and extra money for an "aged" dial.

What did I get?

1. Well the dial was aged alright, since the movement wasn't secured in the casing I guess it had moved around a lot during shipping and the lume literally came off the dial and was in pieces inside once i received it. All it would have taken him or one of his minions was to secure the little latch things that attached the movement to the case which I did myself afterwards.

2. I told him numerous times SWISS SWISS SWISS, and at the end of the day I received an asian movement with the cote de something finish with no panerai marking on it.

3. The PVD was chipped on the crown guard pretty badly

Solution? Sent me a replacement dial, and told me next time I would get a free upgrade to a swiss movement. And at this time he was still taking paypal. I told him I would never purchase another watch off of him and I told him I wanted a refund for the difference. To my surprise I never received a refund nor an email from him.

Since there's a request to chime in..... I'm a newbie who just received his first DSN 112 last week. I thought the transaction with Davidsen was remarkably good and easy-and very quick. I love the watch, with its Swiss swan neck movement (judging by his blog, I got the last one), and it keeps absolutely amazing time. I do note a small fingerprint visible on the bridge-thingy, but I don't mind. I'd be curious to hear what you experts would say about my watch. To me it is flawless. I'm not an expert, but I do know good quality stuff. I suspect you'd approve--and it is 1/10 of the cost of the real thing. I did insist over and over in my emails to him that I wanted one the same quality as the one reviewed by Aquaracer--which was the inspiration for the purchase. I am distressed by what I read here, because being a lefty, I had thought that the natuyral next purchase was a Destro. Now I'm wondering...........

i have bought from Dvsn quite a few watches. in the beginning...i also got 2 lemmons...stripped screws....lose - stripped - CG.....we all know the story how i cursed him out....but, i always got the watches fixed ( after sending back....and customs concerns - headache !! ) but...i always got it fixed, and replacement spareparts. right now...i am also waiting for reply from DVSN....he still might be drunk.
but he always made it right.

in my opinion...his quality has improved ( from reading less complaints )...am i wrong ?

i am sorry to hear that bad story, i am sure he will straighten it out. i think chines new years is not a good time to order a watch from china.

i was waiting for H_U to respond. I remember when he was up and down about it.

I havent bought from davidsen, but it seems the trend is his QC is ok, not great. If you get a lemon, he will fix it, but at the cost of time and/or shipping expenses. His track record is on the consistently above average side though. No mass folks running out to scream bloody murder.

unless they're all quiet?

Over the last 2 months there have been a lot of issues about DSN watches on this forum and RWG as well as RG. My overall experience with his watches is that they are as flawed as any other Pam rep that you could ever buy. The so called expertise that you are buying is pure myth and many of the same watches can be found elsewhere. DSN is the one that needs to get back on track, not us the payees. Many ar being sheared like sheep.Basically the emperor has no clothes.

My first rep was a 036 from DSN. It was flawless in form and funtion, and he was a pleasure to deal with. (not a perfect rep, but a DAMN good watch)

I recently ordered a 111h from him (I believe it was his last swiss swan neck movement). The transaction was easy and pleasant, and the watch was great except it had a skinny crown. I complained about it, referencing a thread here were he posted pictures of this watch with a thicker crown. It went back and forth a bit, but he told me to send it back and he'd install the thicker crown.

Was I disappointed? Sure, but he's doing the right thing. It sucks to have to send it back, but as long as it comes back in a few weeks with the right crown, and no further issues I'll be happy. I still think DSN by and large is the best PAM bang for your buck out there. Obviously there are QC issues at times, but I guess I expect that when buying reps. I've had three Omega reps from various dealers, and they ALL had problems. At least I know that DSN will always try to make it right with me, if there is a problem. Buying reps seems to be a crap shoot, no matter who you're buying from. If I ever do buy another PAM rep, I'd probably go with DSN again.

I'd agree that DSN isn't perfect but who is? As long as he's willing to make good and compensate for the cost of getting things fixed, I'm a happy camper. I ordered his last 183H with the swiss movement but ended up receiving his latest 201. Looked great but there were two glaring flaws: a crown guard that didn't open all the way and some dirt on the dial.

I was disappointed and worried that my 183H would have similar or worse flaws. I had the 201 shipped back at my expense and luckly for me DSN rushed out the 183H before every shutdown for the lunar new year. I received an extra 26/26 strap with an engraved buckle for the cost/trouble. I guess I might be one of the lucky ones but I'm very statisfied with my DSN 183H. Maybe my standards aren't as high as others?

I'm ok with buying another DSN but agree that he really has to QC his watches before sending them out.

Dave, every dealer has responded to me except for Silix thank you.

hooligan. Yes it is good. I'm sure DN does some great stuff. But I am not just looking to get my 111 modded. You can find a hundred guys to throw some powdercoat on a PAM. Hell, that's all they apparently can do. I am doing special projects and creations that span different brands and require skill and the ability to think outside the box. I'd rather have them ignore me than send some screwed up piece of junk just to make a buck.

the only rep i have ever sold was my davidsen 195. it had the lugs stripped from day 1, the crown stem was too long and the lever bent the stem. the dial had slime green numbers that was supposed to be lume but wasn't. i sent the watch to vac and he fixed everything and i ordered a dial from davidsen because he said it had super lume. he sent the dial to vac and it was just like the dial that was in it to begin with. vac sent that dial back and got another one that had some kind of lume but was still lime green and even though davidsen said it was super lume it wasn't very super. vac done beautiful work to the watch and fixed everything except the lume. there was no way to get rid of the green. i had him send it back to me and i sold it. it was nice but the gen 195 doesn't have green lume on the dial with c3 hands so i said the hell with it and sold it. by the time it was all said and done i wasted/lost about 300.00 trying to fix all of this stuff and about 6 months worth of time with it going back and forth for work. that was enough for me thank you.

i would love to have the blue dial ti vespucci or what ever in the hell it is called but there is no way in hell i am spending 400.00 to buy it and no telling how much to get the damn lume done correctly and fix what ever else may be wrong with it. i had such high hope for that watch i had bought a light colored gef strap especially for it then when i saw it i quickly realized it was a no go. :(
