I ordered a ZF IWC 3777-01 and it was flawless on first QC so I guess I got lucky.

+1 for me.

Rotor has a bit of vertical play in it making a bit of a cheap-sounding "rattle" when I tap the crystal or move too quickly, not sure if this is normal for these reps, but as for indices/datewheel alignment I'm very happy.

Beautiful rep;

I would say 90% of reps have that issue unless they are extremely heavy

purchased two watches from ZF and have had no issues. MY BP LPP is fantastic and been so for some months now. Fingers crossed but I would not hesitate to buy a ZF again. Also I know I'm not buying perfection that's why I'm buying a rep. If I wanted perfection id buy gen. Oh ya, cant afford one:spike:

My ZF is almost perfect. After staring at it noticed what everyone meant about poor ZF quality control. It's not too bad tho.

I was used to pam reps and those are just flawless. And when I say flawless, I mean I've had it for 2 years and still cannot find a single issue. Then again it's a simple dial.

Quality comes from the Boss. Until he realizes the cost of poor quality nothing will change. I have bought a lot of ZF watches. My TD just looks for the best or returns the watch till it is acceptable.

I think I've decided on a Portuguese 5007 as my next rep, but this thread is making me pause. Has anyone had recent experience with ZF? Has their quality control gotten better or is it still a crapshoot? The issue is that they cost more than a YLF 5001, but the little details just seem so much better. Date wheel font and spacing on the V4 look near perfect and the hand lengths for the sub dials look so good...

But if I likely have to service it right out of the box, I just can't justify it over a YLF. Can you guys chime in?

I have many ZF watches that I am happy with. My extraordinary TD gets all the credit because her QC is level is so high. The higher level of QC takes time.

My situation is slightly different to yours, although i was in the same boat....

Wanted to buy a 5007, but all the QC issues put me off.....

I then found one on m2m, and i'm over the moon with it! :D It's probably my favourite rep, and i've had many compliments with it on :)

Maybe try and find a TD who is good at QC, which will no doubt help....

@tkingjr who do you use? It may help out @Eagl3

I'm not too worried about a dirty dial, but rather if that uncleanliness also translates into a dirty/unreliable movement. I can clean a dial no problem, but my skills are mostly limited to movement swaps. I'd rather not have to send it straight to a watchsmith right from the start.

I use Lucy @truetime168. Keep in mind this level of QC takes a lot of time. She returns the watch till it is correct. The wait is worth it. I manage to always have a watch in process so the wait doesn't bother me anymore. A Noob would not be happy waiting extra weeks for the best watch.

I've heard of the same of Lucy - she's meant to be awesome :)

My ZF 3714 purchased from Ryan at InTime is trash, been back twice for repairs in less than half a year of ownership. Now they damaged the dial during repairs and want me to pay to fix it.

I'm done with ZF, InTime, and probably the rep game in general.
