Agree with this thread. First ZF 5007 was DOA and the second had a faulty movement. Got a piece that's finally working now but the dial has 4 large pieces dirt / fluff.

No way I would get a ZF again.

I'm waiting for a 3777 but I'm already counted that it will need a service/cleaning very soon as all reps... Crossed fingers

Hmm.. I was hoping to buy my first IWC, but from the ones I liked (Portoguese) looks most are ZF. I'm assuming ZF and YLF are not the same?

Correct. The YLF has only been seen on the website. No one has purchased and done a review to my knowledge. It looks good, but it's hard to know if the YLF portugeuese has the same movement modifcation for seconds @ 6.

My LPP chronograph worked great for 3 weeks then shit the bed. I sent it back to Trusty Time for repair. Hope I get back but somehow I feel I won't see it again. [emoji12]

agreed with ZF QC + assembly are not the top rank compare to their rep-ability.

I have few ZF in past and now only one I keep, all of them have either crooked index, dust, rotor stuck, etc but all of them went to watchsmith for porper check and clean. After that they all run smoothly without any problem. Sold most of them now and only keep the 5007, still running strong and finger cross wont have any problem in near future.

From reading the thread, seems like lots of "Trusty" came up and for statistic wise might be the seller had bad QC when selecting watch from the factory. My understanding when I got my ZF from seller (watchbus - Not TD here), he did actually spend time picking / choosing the good one and rejecting a few before even QC pics for me. So, i think also down to the dealer effort of the screening the bad one out and not just pick one from box and there you go QC done. (Pick the less problem watch instead of full of problems, i admit that almost all ZF pieces have quality issues)

I've passed many feedback to dealers i bought from about ZF issues and hope others will do the same too. or just don't buy ZF at all until they fixed it.

Same here . Rejected 5 time a 3777 for QC issue . If not solving this I'll ask to Lucy to change with a black dial V6F .

Yeah, I'm wary of ZF products to be honest as well.

Tudor Black Bay: Pearl fell off
IWC 5001 V1: Movement stopped working randomly one day, sounded like a screw was loose in the movement
IWC Portuguese Chrono: Movement noisy (oh well) but the crown is almost impossible to pop out. I essentially have to pry it open with a Bergeon screwdriver each time I want to set the time

I have a ZF Big Pilot Muhammad Ali in the mail. Let's see what breaks!

Bought my IWC Big Pilot ZF from Intime in june last year and it's working like a charm. No problems with it at all. Runs smoothly and easily has 3-4 days power reserve.
Sad to see so many people having problems with their watches.

That's good to hear a positive story, I'm looking at the petite prince big pilot. Guess I'll try my luck.

How many did your TD reject before that one, though? :)

Your TD didn't reject any before giving you QC pics? That's some luck.

Usually Lucy ends up rejecting 4-6 of them before getting one she thinks is decent enough to give me QC pics of.

Ryan at InTime didnt say anything to me. It took the usually 3 days to get QC-pics.
If he had rejected any I guess it would have taken longer to receive the pics?

When buying from ZF just factor in $150-200 for a service+cleaning and possibly some realignment. That way you will end up with a reliable rep that's close to gen, but it's definitely not cheap...
