Loved mine too when I had it but permanent worry about the plating killed the joy for me!

Can i ask why you did worry that much about the plating?

Ive now been wearing mine for 4 months ish, and i havent had any scratches yet, i tho also did put on some protection film on the lock bocklet because thats usualy the only place ud get scratches on a daytona like this, due to the oysterflex.

I got mine delivered one day then listed for sold right away. The watch is super nice but was afraid same thing about the plating.

You could just get it replated by @Nikz19 when it's time :) I wouldn't sell it just because of that, we've been wearing plated watches for a long time now on this forum. And especially on this model you don't even have to worry about nicking the bracelet or something since it's rubber. There also is protective stickers one could put on the watch

The problem is that you can’t replate it when something happens to original plating. It can only be replated when it is pristone and new, plating will not stick to damaged surface…

Guys, check your CF 116518LN lugs near the rubber strap, no shadowing, no weird smudges, staining?

It will fade there, no matter what. Rubber strap rubbing on plating there is a recipe for disaster. There is no way to prevent that.
Luckily, it’s where it can’t be seen.

It may start inside but quickly spreads to the outside too and then it can be seen unfortunately…

So if I replate it when it's brand new it will make it more durable and I could get it replated again when needed?

Will a protective sticker on that area prevent this?

Ouch, that’s bad. Thought they were a bit more durable nowadays but guess I’m wrong.

Dear Forum Members

I finally received mine today. Seems i missed to pay attention to the 9 p clock sub dial. I seem that even when i reset the chrono the needle does not align exactly with the 12. I wonder whether this can be fixed by a watch smith. Any one know.
