Does anyone know if the RG on gen is as good as solid (non plated)? I know the gen Bluesy 116613LB was solid (or wrapped as some call it).
I don’t believe Rolex has offered a plated (gold shell) watch since mid 1980s. The gold plating (or wrap) was much thicker, something like 200 microns.

If you nitpick, the raised parts of the bezel are too tall and the edges aren’t sharp enough. Still, this is probably the best insert we’ve seen to date and I’m sure some skilled modding can get it real close to gen. 😁

That's what I thought. Don't mean to sound too skeptical (ok maybe just a little) but how good this RG version seem, one deep scratch and you are pretty f+cked as steel will show unlike gen would

In all honesty I think EWF's insert is better

Hi guys

Many members here might already knew Clean Factory is going to release 40mm YachtMaster soon.
We have received the real pieces in hand some days ago, and took some time to take some comparison pictures.

Here we go for these detailed pictures as follows:

I’ve been wanting to try out a watch with the Oysterflex strap. That rose gold Yachty will be on my wrist for sure in the future.

The person on reddit who shared these pictures is a Chinese local who handled one in hand and wrote:

"The raised numbers are not shiny enough, I'm not sure if the numbers themselves are not shiny enough or something else. Compared with the frosted part of the bezel and the raised numbers, the raised numbers are not shiny enough"

So essentially CF did a bad job on the bezel insert, at least for the SS variants. I will have to stick with my EWF for now. Maybe they did this on purpose to double dip with a fix in v2 and v3.

A mirror polish on them is easy and very quickly done. No biggie.

That's not my area of expertise to make that look gen-like and I don't feel like spending 50-100 bucks on that. I'm more than satisfied with the EWF which is phenomenal as it is. I am sure CF did this on purpose to double dip for a v2 so I have no problem waiting for the update/fix, and even then I wonder if it can match up to the EWF.

I'd imagine polishing it - if it needs polishing - is no more technical than a dry cape cod wrapped around a lollipop stick.

Assuming what somebody commented about Clean’s track record with GMT bezels continues consistent with this YMs launch. And yeah, it’s just an assumption for now, let’s say the bezel mechanism is sh*tty and full of grease - would a gen bezel assembly fix it? Is it a somehow available part for the SS YMs?

I have the same exact question.

@KJ2020 sorry to tag you out of the blue my friend. Was hoping you had some insight regarding this given your breadth of experience with the CF GMT and their less than stellar GMT bezel. Is a gen bezel assembly a viable option for these CF watches (or have you come up with a better fix) and if so do you know what parts are needed? I'd imagine gen bezel assembly parts aren't as easy to come by as your typical dial and such...

From the pictures I’ve seen I must agree texture and edge wise EWF is superior (esp. given price) but the triangle is too small and doesn’t extend to the edge of the bezel - depends which flaw you’d rather have i guess.

How do you find the Hangzhou movement? Is the rotor as noisy as some have said?
