Thank you for your feedback. Yes, the bezel on the franken has the correct "printed" engraving that Rolex introduced around 2008. I was not able to spot any differences compared to my gen! Moreover, it is period correct to the other watch features, blue CL lume, latest clasp, random serial numbers.

In contrast, the newer engraved bezel is not period correct to the watch. As mentioned I don't know if I got a wrong one by chance or if CF made an update mistake. Besides that I think it's superb.

Personally, I'm very happy with the engraved bezel as it gives the watch a slightly different look compared to my other one. And it will fit well to the gen white dial with green SL from 2003 that I'm going to install.

For new orders my advise would be to ask your TD and look carefully at the QC pics to avoid surpises.
Got it, thanks for clarifying! Looking forward to seeing your upcoming white franken!

Thank you for the post.

I am interested in both black and white 116520's. Do you know if the QF's are inferior to the updated Clean's?
Hi, sorry, I cannot comment much about QF from own experience.

@Tobel
Here we are, Sir. I'm very happy with the result, it has that little vintage feeling that I find very appealing.

For comparison my first CF with the stock dial. Very nice, yet less charming.

Can someone please confirm if the black dial V2 has the correct curved 3 dots on the crown? I’m seeing a few V2‘s on M2M but they still have the wrong 3 dots in a straight line pattern

I like to share some pics of my new CF 116520 black dial. It was sold as v2 from my favorite TD. I was very interested to compare the dial with the gen one that I had recently put in my other CF v2 ordered 4 weeks before. In theory both watches should be identical besides the dials.

The franken is left, the "original" rep on the right. Overall the rep dial looks really good, dimensions of subdials, one the biggest flaws of the white dial, are completely ok. Lettering is not 100% sharp but very nice.
However, under different light conditions it becomes visible that the structure of the gen subdials are more sophisticated (the little rings have more depth) and reflect the light differently. Below, the gen dial is now on the right, sorry!

The rep dial (left) is more reflective and is still shiny while the gen (right) changes the color to variations of grey.

Looking at a different angle, both are very shiny.
Although same factory, same version sold as v2 within 4 weeks distance, I found the bezels of the two watches are different. The newer watch has engraved markings as used in earlier gen Daytona models while the previous one has "printed" markings. May be CF has a new supplier or it happened by chance because the bezel was lying around. By the way, both cases are engraved 116500 so the 116520 is probably a niche product.
I bought the watch as a base to upgrade it a gen white dial. However, I think for people looking for a 116520 out of the box first, the black version is a pretty good choice.
That is a great comparison, thanks, was searching for exactly that. Subdial size seems to be ok indeed, but the shine is putting me off.

Absolutely stunning. You convinced me in getting the Clean 116520 and install gen black dial and gen bezel.

how did this thing turn out in person? i have yet to find any photos of the latest white CF dial in hand.

trying to see if the subdial correction makes this worth picking up. they look a bit yellow
I ordered this, then I switched my order to another model (black racing dial 116509) so I have never seen this in person..

White dial looks great although I’m in love With the back dial. Do these models have the crown etched at 6 or was this something that wasn’t done on older Gen models?

Dont know about the white dial, but the black one had updated to v3, white one should be also updated but the video did not mention
- font in the bezel is improved
- subdials is thinner
- subdials colour are fixed and less bright
Tbh, I do not see much improvement. Subdial boldness was quite ok anyway in the black dial version but they still appear to be way too shiny. Check out the comparison of an older version above with a gen dial again. The subdials of the gen rather turn grey instead of shining bright metallic.

actually there are so many variations for this dial , i had a gen with extremely shiny subdials .. i think its bang on for the price.. beats spending 2k on a dial

I don't think that bezel font is improved. On the contrary I find it too thin and preferred the previous one

Dial looks good including subdials

Still have an issue with the pushers
