If it's really SS it's probably OK. Some reps use cheaper carbon steel, which can rust. Some GMT reps don't even come with one. Depending on fit, there is usually no problem not having one. Like I said before though, if I had laid out for a gen bezel and insert, I would just use all gen bezel assembly parts.

And I will use all gen parts. Thank you very much bro!

I believe you have to use at least a gen bezel click spring and ring since the rep one does not fit a gen bezel ring

Yeah, I know that, but Clean has so many iterations of both models that, at a certain point, we all start to get confused and our eyes start not seeing straight :(

Look to this one for example, this seems clearly to have a bezel lip:

Can you highlight what you refer to as a bezel lip

Bro, can you tell me which is the correct fit of the GMT crystal gasket? Is it same of sub gasket? 2 mm?

Thank you:)

You are asking about crystal gasket height? The gen crystal comes with (2) 2.7mm tall gen gaskets. However it is possible the CF rehaut height is slightly different from gen so achieving the correct date mag should always be the priority, not matching the gen gasket height.

The milky ring on the crystal of all Clean GMT II is more obvious flaws no?

Does it mean using the rep gasket would be more appropriate to give the correct magnification?

It might bro. Depends on the rep batch of crystal/cyclops. Many times rep factories do non gen-spec things with crystal thickness, cyclops mag level, rehaut height, gasket height, gasket thickness, etc. I never approach a crystal swap without plenty of gasket options on hand and it's often a compromise between proper level of date mag and crystal sitting height. Every CF GMT I've seen with a gen crystal has the crystal sitting too high. You can use shorter gaskets only until the crystal is sitting on the rehaut, after that the rehaut would need to be shaved down. All that needs to be assessed carefully because lowering the crystal means reducing date mag.

Crystal gaskets can be easily shaved both in height and thickness to make a custom solution. Leave the gasket on a junk crystal and sand the gasket on a flat surface with 400 grit to shave height. Hold it on edge and swipe roll it toward you in 1/6 circle arcs to shave thickness. Dont use black sandpaper it can stain the gasket.

Thanks for the info KJ2020
Why is it necessary to shave the thickness of the gasket? Internal or exterior? You mean the gen gasket? Is it becoz the rep crystal retenting ring won't give a good fit?

Correct. Always exterior. I've personally had some, and have read about other instances where a rep retaining ring (or bezel in the case of DJ41 or Daytona, EXP II, etc.) simply will not fit over a gen gasket. There are also some rep gaskets which are thicker than gen so if using a gen gasket you have to improvise in a different way (UV glue, epoxy, etc.).

Shaving a tiny bit off the thickness of a ceramic Daytona crystal gasket is a nice hedge against cracking the bezel when re-pressing it. That and a thin coating of silicone grease.

Worth the mention -- gen gaskets didn't work on my CF GMTs for this reason, I had to re-use the CF gaskets.
