I just placed my order today, although the X wouldn't have stopped me from doing so. But damn that's bad

IDK I kind of like the snowflakes, haha.

Seriously though, that's something I won't ever see on the wrist. The gen sample has a top right cap line shorter than all the others, a deviation from the CAD perfect dial at Rolex.com

Hazing is your watch installed with gen hands? I wanted to know how the white lume color is compared to gen hands.

I’ve got to agree with KJ, this is not something you can see when looking at the watch on your wrist.

Considering it took 23 pages to identify the janky X in macro view, I agree with you two guys. Hell, for that matter, I've read the entire ZZF V2 LN thread and do not recall anyone mentioning it.

And what about the difference in the space between the bottom "legs" of the X? That is way off, too.

But heck, at 20 cms. I can barely see that area on the dial, so who really cares? I doubt anyone is going to take out a macro lens to look at the watch on my wrist! You'd have to have Steve Austin's bionic eye to spot it....

I think no one is really up in arms over the X. It's just that it's a shame to have discovered that flaw in an otherwise really good rep dial. Such a waste.

But its still imo the best ootb sub in the market for sure.

The "X" concern is definitely NOT a deal breaker. All I'm saying is, once you see it, it's difficult to unsee it.
The dial is an improvement --- print and the markers ---, but I am looking forward to the next version that hopefully turns "blacker " in certain light. Like the BP Miyota did.

... And you don't need a loupe to make that observation.
Happy New Year everyone!

Yeah black like this and X marks the spot! People have put gen markers on a BP dial and the ZZF markers would be a lot cheaper than that and the dial could still be salvaged, hmmm... Might be looking at a little switcheroo.

True! For me right now, though, I think the $$ I spent on the new CF Hulk dial is enough. I'm going to have Mike put the CF dial and the gen insert and bezel assembly on my Hulk and call it a day*
Then I'll have an all-but-the dial, bracelet and case gen Hulk.

I'll post photos when it's done.

*At least until an even better dial comes along!!! LOL!!!

Yea. Gen hands and I think the color of the whitish fill on this dial is very very very close to gen. Much closer than on an ARF or or even on the BP. I haven't held it side by side with a gen sub but I have held other models side by side and thay was the first thing I noticed - the difference in that marker color.

But either way (BP or clean) it's subtle. It's barely noticible with the naked eye and hard to see unless it's side by side with something different and the hands and markers are certainly close enough to not cause that attention.

The cf dial gets very very dark. And it takes only the very slightest adjustment to go from completely green to completely dark. Here are some I just happened to have that I took last week. I'll try to take some specifics when I get home from vacation.
